POWER FOR MINISTRY

INTRODUCTION

We live in very confusing and uncertain times, one moment we free the next moment we can be locked up for going to a restaurant for eating a meal.

Feels as if the world is sinking sand with all these changes consistently.

However,WE HAVE A LORD HIS NAME IS JESUS and He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow he is not sinking sand He is stable.

That is alive a God that went through suffering a God who is alive and he calls us to look to Him and keep our eyes on him, for some of you it is maybe letting the tears of your angry coming out for others it is picking up the phone and pouring your heart out to a trusted friend.

But in all of this we are not alone we have a Lord who sits on the throne.

And He wants to empower us for our ministry………..

The power to cope in this season to be a witness and to advance the Kingdom of God, this power for ministry is available for those we will look to Jesus and ask Him for the power of the Spirit.

This power I am talking about is through baptism in the Spirit. This is supernatural power from above.

It is called the baptism in the Holy Spirit, if there is a time that we need the power of the spirit coming upon us it is this season...

What does the word baptism mean in the original text .

It comes from the Greek word, βαπτιζω (baptidzo)

which means to

dip,

to immerse,

to plunge in water.

It carries the meaning of washing,

overwhelming,

overflowing,

saturating,

drenching

and clothing, or, putting on.

There are 5 baptism.

We have to go through all five of them and 4 consistently to be matured and transformed into a son and daughter of God, where we worship Jesus and follow his example as a man, led by the Holy Spirit and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be an effective witness for Jesus while living in community.

As our faith grows, we end up immersing more and more into the 5 baptisms.

WHAT ARE THE 5 BAPTISM?

IMMERSION INTO -CHRIST/WATER -PERSONALITY

IMMERSION INTO -SUFFERING DEALS WITH OUR RELATIONSHIPS-ON BEHALF OF CHRIST.

IMMERSION INTO -FIRE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT – GIFTS SANCTIFIED,SERVE JESUS BY SERVING THE BODY AND SERVE HUMANITY.

IMMERSION INTO CHURCH. -DEALS WITH OUR MINISTRY/CAREER.

IMMERSION INTO-HOLY SPIRIT – POWER FOR MINISTRY.

1.WHAT IS THE BAPTISM INTO THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Mat 3:11 “I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Luk 24:49  And behold, I send the promise of My father on you. But you sit in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high. 

This baptism is for the purpose of receiving God’s power for the ministry of the Kingdom (Luke 24: 49). This is not the same as regeneration by the Holy Spirit, which happens at the re-birth (Titus 3: 5 and John 3: 5-8).

This is the Holy Spirit coming upon our bodies with evidence of speaking in tongues.

2.WHAT DOES THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT DO?

Act 1:8  But you shall receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you. And you shall be witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth. 

Act 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying.

Act 4:31  And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness. 

1.The baptism with the Holy Spirit is specifically for clothing already regenerated believers with power for the purpose of service.

2.Through this baptism, the believer is empowered to bear witness to the world.

3.The baptism in the Holy Spirit also enables God’s people to experience God’s power in the church.

4. It also binds believers strongly to the body of Christ – the universal(NCMI) and local church (1 Corinthians 12: 12, 13).

5. Through this baptism, believers are supernaturally gifted to serve the body of Christ

(1 Cor 12: 7-11). Joel 2: 28-32; Acts 1: 5, 8 and Acts 11: 15)

WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED THIS POWER? WITH EVIDENCE OF SPEAKING IN TONGUES?

WE SEEK FOR MORE AND MORE - TO BE MORE AND MORE EFFECTIVE FOR JESUS.

GET ALL OUR GIFTS ACTIVATED IN THE HOLY SPIRIT.

This is POWER FOR THE MINISTRY GOD HAS CALLED YOU TO.

WHATEVER GOD has called you to do for him, that is your MINISTRY.

NOW, Jesus wants to give you power, wisdom, ability and might in that area to be highly effective witness for Jesus.

THIS POWER COMES TO US IN THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT- HE LEADS AND EMPOWERS US.

SUPERNATURAL POWER THROUGH THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT POWER TO SHARE CHRIST WITH PEOPLE.

3.WHAT IS OUR RESPONSE TO THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT- POWER FOR MINISTRY?

Joh 7:37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.

Joh 7:38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”

-If you ARE NOT baptized in the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking IN tongues, please seek that out urgently !

Make sure you have received Christ into your life.

Ask Jesus

Receive from Jesus

Trust Jesus to give you this vital empowering gift of the Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues,.

If you HAVE been baptised in the Holy Spirit before with evidence of Speaking in tongues.

Remember take your place in church life , and see your your Monday to Friday career also as a place of ministry.Surrender that to Jesus and seek him for the power of the Holy Spirit contualliy come upon you to be effective , here is some steps on

HOW TO SEEK THE HOLY SPIRIT DAILY..

Thirst for the Holy Spirit . Jesus said all who are thirsty come and drink, receive from Jesus and be expectant for more of His power by the Spirit to come upon you to empower you to be effective for Jesus.

Joh 7:37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.

Joh 7:38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”

Seek out a leader to lay hands on you for impartation for more of the Spirit.

Act 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying.

Keep on

Asking

Seeking

and knocking for more of the Holy Spirit power to come on your life.

Luk 11:9 And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Luk 11:10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

Luk 11:11 What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent;

Luk 11:12 or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?

Luk 11:13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

Seek, for more of the power of the Holy Spirit to help you in ministry.

Knock for more and more of the power of the Holy Spirit in your ministry,

Never stop asking,seeking and knocking for more of the Spirit power coming upon you to be effective in ministry.
