A. TWO TYPES OF SLAVERY

1. Slave of Sin

Obedient to Sin (v. 16)

Impurity

Lawlessness → More Lawlessness

Shame

False Freedom (v. 20)

The Salary of Sin = Eternal Death (v. 23)

Sin is a Cruel Master: We did all the work & earned DEATH as a payment.

2. Slave of Righteousness

Obedient to God (v. 16)

Good Fruit (v. 19, 22)

Righteousness → Sanctification (v. 19)

Sanctification → Eternal Life (v. 22)

True Freedom (v. 22)

God is a Loving Master: He did all the work & we receive ETERNAL LIFE as a gift!

WE MUST OFFER OUR WHOLE SELVES TO RIGHTEOUS LIVING.

III. Free to Serve Others
