a festival - religious festival n. — a festival (feast) with religious significance, involving feasting and celebration; often for the God of Israel, though not necessarily. a holy day, holiday
new moon - new moon festival n. — a time set aside for feasting and celebration related to the beginning of a (new lunar cycle).
sabbaths - Sabbath n. — a day of rest and worship at the end of the seven day week cycle; lasting from Friday evening until Saturday evening.

shadow - foreshadow n. — an example that prefigures or foreshadows what is to come. an image cast by an object and representing the form of that object.

worship of angels - showing love and devotion to a messenger.
intruding into - to dwell on ⇔ frequent v. — to come back to a topic over and over; conceived of as being a regular visitor to a certain place

vainly puffed up - being proud or inflated without cause or reason
fleshly -sinf ul humanity ⇔ flesh n. — the physical aspect of a person in distinction to the immaterial soul; often understood as the seat of sin and rebellion to God.
mind - mental attitude n. — a complex mental state involving beliefs and feelings and values and dispositions to act in certain ways.
