King James Version
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
It’s all in his hands
Introduction:
My brothers and sisters I believe we all have been in a place in our lives were we find ourselves wondering what, God has next for our lives. We try to calculate the Moves of God, We attempt to figure out everything that’s going on in our lives and try to put all of the pieces to the puzzle together.
We plan out our lives exactly how we want it to be. We plan our live according to our goals and aspirations.
I believe We should all be searching and trying to find God’s purpose and plan for our lives, But how many can agree that sometimes God will put obstacles or situations in our lives were we may say “Okay God what are doing here. Okay God what is the game plan.
Although we may can’t figure it all out we must trust and know that we are at the exact place in our life right now we’re God want us to be Its not by accident that you are were you are right now.
I’m sure they can say their journey have not always been easy. I’m sure they can say they had to sacrifice somethings in order be at this place in their lives.
many of us others had to go through many obstacles to get to the place we’re you are right now.
Sometimes God will not give us the blueprint, sometimes god will not give us the outline, sometimes the plan will not be crystal clear.
But we must trust God, knowing that he has a plan for our lives and even on the toughest times, he has us all in his hand.
I’ve had seasons in my life that I prayed for my purpose, I believed for my breakthrough, I fasted for my family and but still did not understand what God was doing.
However it’s in those moments were God is in the background working it all out.
It’s in those moments when I’m unsure of how God is going to work it out that he proves to me that he can work it out.
Everything that we are facing now or have faced in our past is making us out for something great.
Job understood this when he said” He knows the way that I take and after he has tried me” I shall come forth as pure Gold.
You may not understand all that goes on in your life but God has it all in his hands.
You may not be able to figure it out but God has it all in his hands.
Proverbs 3: 5 says Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths.
Text Background:
Here in The book of Jeremiah, Jeremiah is writing to the Babylonian exiles. These were the the people of Judah who were taken captive by King Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonians during the period of 586bc and 539 bc when the babylonians attacked and Destroyed Jerusalem and the temple and took many of the of the people back to mesopotamia and held them captive.
So the prophet Jeriamiah writes this book to the people of Judah who had been taken captive during this time period. Jeremiah tells them that the period of exile in Babylon will be seventy years In the previous verse Jeremiah 29 and 10. However, although they may be in exile God has not forgotten about them. Although they maybe held captive God still had them in his hands.
Jeremiah prophesied to theses people and explained to them that They will return to Judah only after the seventy years of Judgment was when God will bring them back to their land.
The seventy year exile was a part of Gods plan to give Judah a future and a hope.
Jeremiah explained to them that they should be encouraged through what they were going through because at the END of the exile at the end of time of Judgement-God will provide for the welfare and not bring them to calamity.
If you read Jeremiah in his entirety he tells them to make a life for themselves while they were in exile. He tells them to build houses, plant Gardens, Multiply and do not decrease.
BECAUSE GOD HAS A PLAN
There ‘s three specific points I gathered from this text.
1.Your experiences in Bondage prepared you for your promise.
As mentioned previously Jeremiah explained to the people of Judah that while they were in exile they should not give up hope.
However, even though they were in bondage he tells them to build houses. Build families, grow crops and make the land fruitful.
I asked myself why would God want the people of Judah to build up their kingdom while they were in bondage. Why couldn’t he just bring them out.
But how many can testify to the fact that sometimes God will not deliver us out of every bondage situation.
Some situations God will let us stay in and bless up while we are in it.
He takes us through some situations to prepare us for were we are going in the future.
We have to use the bondage experiences in our life to prepare for the promise.
The pressure that you faced was preparing you for the promise.
Is there anyone here that can say I may be in exile however Im still going to give God Praise.
I may have some obstacles that I have to overcome but Im still going to give God Glory…Because I understand that weeping may endure for a night, but Joy is coming in the morning.
And no matter how many trials I face I understand that even at the end of
What I’m going through. I’m still in his hand.
Point 2.
You are on the mind of God.
. How much comforting should it be to know that you are on the mind of God.
Jeremiah 29:11 lets us know that He has thoughts towards you.
God thinks about you.
Not only does he think about you. He thinks positive thoughts about you.
Worldometer.com states that the population of the entire world is 7.5 billion people in the world.
As I begin to think about the magnitude of those people and think God still thinks about little old me. Not only does he think about me but he thinks about you as well.
He thinks thoughts of peace about you he thinks about giving you a hope.
He has our future on his mind.
He has on his mind the thoughts and ideas that our mind could not grasp
Isaiah 55:9 declares Gods thoughts or not our thoughts and they are so different that it is far from the heaven is from earth.
It’s time for us to start thinking about ourselves how God thinks about you.
How do you see yourself, you have to start thinking about yourself in positive light.
*****To the young people don’t let Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat determine how you think of yourself.
Don’t allow how many likes you get determine your self worth and value.
Tell someone God see the positives in you, now you have to see the positive in yourself.
He see the positive in you and he has a plan that has you in it.
God is articulating all that is going in your life.
He is strategically aligning everything in your life in his hands to peace by piece in order to complete the work in your life.
He is thinking about you and your in his hand.
Not only is he thinking about you but
3. What ever you are dealing with has an expiration date.
It says in Jeremiah 29:11 that God will give you an expected end date.
We have to remember that no matter what you go through it has an expiration date.
No matter what you face remember, there’s nothing that last forever.
When you face difficulties understand that your God is bigger than your problem.
Sometimes God has to take us through some things in order to get us to our finished product. Sometimes he has to take us through something’s before we reach Our full potential.
Closing
Jeremiah 18 Jeremiah uses the analogy of clay and potter to relate to their relationship with God.
He says that God is the potter and we are the clay.
He desires for us to be a finish product, So in order for the potter to make the clay a finish product.
Sometimes he has to bend it, However if you’re bent. You’re still in his hands.
Sometimes he has to break the clay. Even if you’re broken your still in his hands.
It’s important for you to understand that no matter what you face, and You are going to face somethings but through your still in Gods hands.
Your future is in his hand
Your future Job is in hands
Your plans and endeavors are in his hand.
If it’s in his hands, you don’t have to worry, If it’s in his hands Im not going to be stressed, If it’s in his hands Im going to dry my tears.
Because I understand Its in his hands Im going to praise him while I’m in it.
Because I understand that sooner or later, It’s getting ready to turn in my favor.
Because I understand its still in his hands Im going to give him Glory,
Because I understand it’s in his hands Im going to give him honor.
