The prophet Elisha also called the man of God, met a couple along the way of his ministry route. From time to time, they would invite Elisha for a meal. This great display of generosity was evidence that these people had the Attitude of Gratitude. It is powerful what a simple meal can do to display the love of God. (2 Kings 4:10)
This family took their gratitude to another level by making a small room on their roof, equipped with a bed, table, lamp and a chair. I’m sure there were other amenities as well.
What we have here is an example of gratitude overflowing into generosity and ministry.
Thank you Father God, for each person and circumstance in my life.
God brings those individuals into our lives
that impact us for all eternity.
The Grateful Friends
Be thankful for the friends that God places in your lives. The famous friendship between David and Johnathan was a gift from God to each other. In I Samuel 18:1-4: Jonathan became one in spirit with David. These men bonded with one another. They loved one another like the loved themselves. They were tight, that’s my boy. David and Jonathan made oaths that spanned beyond their personal lives.
David kept his word to show concern and kindness to Jonathan’s family. 2 Samuel 9:1 King David asked the question, “Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” The answer was a man named Mephibosheth, Jonathan’s son.
The quality and success of your life has so much to do with the top 5 people you surround yourself with. The people the Lord places around us will inspire you, encourage you and support you
I Thessalonians was written by Team Paul: Silas and Timothy. They start off their letter to the church with a hearty dose of thanksgiving. Isn’t that what we are taking about?
Sending communication to the church in and around Thessalonica. We (Represents the team) as they speak to the saints through this letter.
What are they thankful for, as they think about these saints living in this city?
Team Paul compliments this church by saying with intensity and passion:
- We always thank God for you all, in our prayers
We continually remember how the Lord uses:
- You all in your work produced by faith
- Your hard work which is prompted by love
- Your endurance inspired by and hope
Everyone needs people around them that love them and the Lord. Ministry partners show care and love to the glory of God.
Generous believers are those who cultivate the attitude of gratitude
Believers who have love God displays that love for his people.
