Introduction:
Keep thy heart with all diligence;
For out of it are the issues of life.
Righteousness: Doing right; the quality of being in accordance with God’s law
What is the benefit of righteous living?
How can we be protected in battle?
How do we “put on” the breastplate of righteousness?
Protects Affections
Protects Affections
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness?
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
and be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
Delight thyself also in the Lord;
And he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Where are your affections set?
Why should we set them on things above?

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
I delight to do thy will, O my God:
Yea, thy law is within my heart.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
For what do you hunger and thirst?
How can you determine those things for which you “hunger and thirst”?

And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.
Righteousness exalteth a nation:
But sin is a reproach to any people.
Adam’s sin plunged the entire human race into sin.
In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
Sin sneaks in and its effects are devastating. However, because of the deceitfulness of sin, we are not shown the consequences up front. Sin also tells us that we can get away with it.
“Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay and cost you far more than you want to pay.”
There is a way that seemeth right unto a man,
But the end thereof are the ways of death.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Is America too far gone to see a new awakening and revival?
How can we effect a righteous change in our nation?
Conclusion:
Conclusion:
Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Will you make a commitment to turn from wickedness and follow Christ as He leads you to live in righteousness?
