Codependent Dating Relationships

marriage is not an experiment
We should be looking for someone that demonstrates the character of Christ. That is not demonstrating character that could destroy the marriage or put a stain on who Christ is.
Spiritual or emotional neediness.
Does she value her relationship to Jesus as the most important relationships in your life.
Philippians 3:7 ESV
7 But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
Has christ become so hope giving, and being so solid in there life, that low points and high points don’t distract or rock them from her foundation in Christ.
Philippians 4:11 ESV
11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.
I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me
It is not un christian to feel a need in crisis to desire another person that kind of need to not consume them but honor them.
1 Corinthians 12:21–23 ESV
21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty,
Do they have the inner composer to not undermine there joy when others reject them.
Luke 6:22 ESV
22 “Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!
Do they have the paradox of sorrowful yet always rejoicing.
2 Corinthians 6:10 ESV
10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything.
No body is perfect in these ways, but if they are born again, they have tasted of these joys and wants to grow in them.
