Present Your Bodies as a Living Sacrifice

Romans 12:1 NKJV

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Paul told the church at Rome to present their bodies as a living sacrifice

A living sacrifice in opposite of the Levitical sacrifices where animal were killed, cut into pieces, and presented dead as an offering to God unknowingly. And only the dead sacrifices that God approved could be offered.

Unlike the dead animals who had no knowledge they were being offered.

Unlike the dead animals that were cut into pieces and burned.

The Christian is supposed to present themselves as Paul said in Romans 6:13 as one who has returned from the dead

Romans 6:13 NKJV

And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

Paul told them to present their entire body and entire life as instruments of righteousness.

Paul said your entire body as a living sacrifice which he is also including the mind in the next verse.

God does not just want a part of us, part time, he wants all of us all the time!

Which is our intelligent service as some translate reasonable.

We should know how to serve God by his Grace and mercy.
