What Hour Are We Living In?

Is anyone still awake?

1 John 2:18 (ESV)
18) Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.
The Time for Playing Church is Over!
Tell Stories About the First Couple of Times I Preached.
1 Corinthians 15:34 (ESV) - Awake to Righteousness and Sin NOT!
“When was the last time your pastor or these big name preachers you listen to preached a message that made the world mad??? When is the last time one of these big Christian music artist’s took a stance that made the world upset with them? When is the last time you saw one of these big names in the kingdom preach something or took a stance that made Hollywood and the media lash out at them??? When was the last time you saw them take a stance that made them lose money or followers? The Apostles, Prophets and Jesus constantly had the world coming at their neck. Their messages made people angry and made the demons in folks manifest. Truth will do that.” - Marcus Rogers
If you have your Bibles open to Mark 11:15-18 (ESV)

Look At These Striking Statistics...

Ligonier Ministries alongside life way Research conducted an up-to-date survey about the state of the church back in September of 2020. This is what they found...
26 percent think that church ministries cannot be effective to the world unless their worship services are “entertaining.”
39 percent agree that “materiel blessings” are a guaranteed reward of faith.
46 percent take a relaxed position on sin, agreeing that people are generally good by nature.
65 percent believe that Jesus is a being whom God created (as opposed to the belief in the incarnation of God, the Word made flesh, the only way that salvation is possible… The Gospel!
30 percent agree with the statement that “Jesus was a great teacher, but was not God. Can you believe this!? This is the church!
18 percent believe that the Holy Spirit can lead a Christian into sin.
Lastly, 42 percent of all evangelicals embrace the blatantly idolatrous heresy that “God accepts the worship of all Religions.”
But We Are Called to Be Set Apart!? Aren’t We.
1 Peter 2:9 (ESV)
9) But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
But Do We Even Believe the Bible???
Notes:
Talk about the arrogance of the modern day preachers.
Talk about the transition that took place after the last 50 years.
Transition to Holiness.
Hebrews 12:14 (ESV)
14) Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
If we don’t become Holy we will not make it into the kingdom!
We must become a living sacriface!
Romans 12:2 (ESV)
1) I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
2) Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
“A lot of people think that Christianity is you doing all the righteous things you hate and avoiding all the wicked things you love in order to go to Heaven. No, that's a lost man with religion. A Christian is a person whose heart has been changed; they have new affections.” - Paul Washer
1 Peter 1:14–16 (ESV)
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
We are called to be Holy.
Purity over power.
What does Holiness look like practically?
Talk about dress appeal.
Talk about inward and outward holiness.
“Holiness is not merely a feeling, state of mind, or good intention. It involves practical separation from sin and real separation unto God.” - Paul Washer
The Holy One of God.
John 6:66-69 (ESV)
66) After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him.
67) So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?”
68) Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life,
69) and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”
Notes:
Talk About A Christless Pentecost - David Wilkerson
Is Christ becoming a stranger in our midst?
Christ is made a stranger when we Praise him, but not pray to Him.
We want his power, deliverances, promises, protection, blessings, prosperity, happiness and earthly goods. But do we want Him ALONE!?
Are we seeing a great falling away happening right in front of our own very eyes!?
Are we seeing what happened in John 6:66 right in front of us?
1 Peter 4:1-7 (ESV)
1) Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,
2) so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God.
3) For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry.
4) With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you;
5) but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
6) For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead, that though judged in the flesh the way people are, they might live in the spirit the way God does.
7) The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.
Conclusion:
It’s time to turn the tables on the enemy!
