Leviticus 20:6-8
Back in the Biblical times a person’s name usually said something about that person’s character or destiny. This is why the many names of God are important for us to see and understand. Each name of God reveals something about His character.
At the same time, God’s names show us many different ways in which He is there to help us in our times of need.
We can see God’s names revealed to us throughout the pages of scripture. Often the Bible reveals a new name of God when His people either face a great need, or when they see God come through and bless them in a spectacular way.
As time passed, the people of God received more and more revelation about the nature of God.
Each of us individually have the ability to learn more about God and his nature in our walk with Him.
This is why it is so important to have a personal relationship with God the Father directly. Without that direct personal connection we only learn about God without ever growing to actually know Him.
This study will hopefully spark an excitement
regarding the God we Pray to and serve and encourage you to seek His atributtes being demonstarted in your lives as He answers prayers and meets need.

Today we are going to focus on:
Jehovah M’Kaddesh - I am the Lord who Sactifies You
Jehovah M’Kaddesh - I am the Lord who Sactifies You
Question:
What does Sactified mean to you?
The Definition of Sanctify:
set apart as or declare holy; consecrate.
make legitimate or binding by religious sanction.
free from sin; purify.
Words of simiular meaning:
bless, hallow, anoint, ordain, approve, condone, underwrite, cleanse, absolve, unburden, redeem
Why is this so important?
Why is this so important?
This is important because if we are honest with ourselves, we absolutely fall short of the standard of God regarding being sanctified.
To be sanctifed is going to take more than discipline, but discipline does play a part in it.
There is so much in this current age that comes against and seeks to destroy our Holiness.
Question:
What are some examples you can think of where the influence was a negative one regareding Holiness
Our jobs and the people we interact with can say quationable jokes or remarks
Family who are not saved can affect us negatively when it comes to Holiness
The media we are exposed to: Music, movies, video games etc.
Last but not least our own flesh, our own minds rebel against the things of God. Fiery darts launched into our mind, with the express goal of igniting an unhloy train of thought that if not quenched can turn into action and when sin has taken its full course… death.
Question:
What are examples of “Fiery Darts” that you have experienced?
Leviticus 20:6-8
6 ‘And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people. 7 Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am the LORD your God. 8 And you shall keep My statutes, and perform them: I am the LORD who sanctifies you.
In this passage God is speaking directly to Moses commanding him to speak to the nation of Israel about holiness.
If you read the whole chapter you will see God address a whole range of perversion and abomimnation that seems to be more prevalent in this day and age.
Question:
In What ways do you see Mediums and Familiar Spirits being promoted in our society?
Leviticus 20:23-26
23 And you shall not follow the statutes of the nation that I am driving out ⌊from before you⌋, because they did all these things, and I detested them. 24 So I said to you, “You yourselves shall take possession of their land, and I myself shall give it to you to possess it—a land flowing with milk and honey”; I am Yahweh your God, who ⌊has set you apart⌋ from the nations. 25 And you shall distinguish between the clean and the unclean animal and between the unclean and the clean bird; and you shall not defile yourselves with the animal or with the bird or with anything that moves along the ground that I have set apart for you ⌊as unclean⌋. 26 And you shall be holy for me, because I, Yahweh, am holy, and I have singled you out from the nations to be mine.
Question:
What is God’s main concern in this scripture?
1st Peter 1:14
14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former desires you used to conform to* in your ignorance, 15 but as the one who called you is holy, you yourselves be holy in all your conduct, 16 for it is written, “You will be holy, because I am* holy.”
Question:
What are some former desires God has help you overcome?
Romans 12:1-2
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Revelation 15:1
1 And I saw another great and marvelous sign in heaven: seven angels having seven plagues that are the last ones, because with them the wrath of God is completed. 2 And I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who had conquered the beast and his image and the number of his name were standing by the glassy sea, holding harps from God. 3 And they were singing the song of Moses, the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying:“Great and marvelous are your works,Lord God All-Powerful;righteous and true are your ways,King of the ages!4 Who would never fear, Lord, and glorify your name? For only you are holy, because all the nations will come and worship before you, because your righteous deeds have been revealed.”
In the end beloved it is God who provides the power and ability to be sanctified. It is one of His names in the bible and an attribute of the God we serve.
