THE GREAT THINGS THE LORD HAS DONE - Psa 126:3

Intro: The Love of God song.

The love of God is greater far Than tongue or pen can ever tell; It goes beyond the highest star, And reaches to the lowest hell; The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled, And pardoned from his sin.

Refrain: Oh, love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure— The saints’ and angels’ song.

When hoary time shall pass away, And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall, When men who here refuse to pray, On rocks and hills and mountains call, God’s love so sure, shall still endure, All measureless and strong; Redeeming grace to Adam’s race— The saints’ and angels’ song.

Could we with ink the ocean fill, And were the skies of parchment made, Were every stalk on earth a quill, And every man a scribe by trade; To write the love of God above Would drain the ocean dry; Nor could the scroll contain the whole, Though stretched from sky to sky.

I. God Has Sought Us - Luke 19:10

A. He sought us because of His Grace - 2 Cor 8:9 There is none that seeketh after God - Rom 3:11

B. He sought us by His Spirit - John 6:44

C. He sought us for a purpose - Acts 1:8 To transform us into His Son’s image.

II. God Has Bought Us - 1 Cor. 6:20

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

III. God Has Brought Us Out - Deut 5:15

Israel is a good illustration of this truth.

A. He Brought them out of Egypt (Type of sin).

B. He Brought them through the Red Sea (Baptism).

C. He Brought them through the Wilderness (Living with the carnal nature still on board).

D. He Brought them into Caanan (The work of Entire Sanctification).

IV. God Has Taught Us - 1 Thess 4:9

He has taught us:

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Colossians 2:7 ESV

rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

A. Through His Spirit

B. Through His Word

C. Through His chosen teachers.

V. At the Rapture We Can Say, “He Caught Us” - 1 Thess 4:17

A. Redemption Will Be Complete.

B. Rewards will be Given.

C. Rejoicing will be Sustained.
