Romans 10:9-10
Romans 10:9-10
King James Version (Chapter 10)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
What does it mean to confess Jesus as Lord?
Talk is cheap and when dealing with matters of life and death, one should think carefully about what it means to profess that Jesus is Lord.
32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
Acknowledge; profess, admit, declare
Confess with thy mouth
“stoma” mouth
If Jesus is Lord, it means that he is over everything.
If he is Lord of ones life, then every part of their life should be changed when they encounter Jesus.
If one is not sure if they have encountered Christ, they can ask themselves these five questions.
Do you have a changed attitude toward sin
Do you love being with other Christians?
Are you concerned with God’s glory?
Are you able to give a reason for the hope when asked?
Are you not ashamed of Christ, regardless of the consequences?
The answers to these questions will reveal the truth about ones heart
