The Journey of Life
A Message by Bishop Jim Lowe
The Guiding Light Church
Sunday, June 27, 2021
Matthew 7:13-14
Two roads: The broad road and the narrow road. One road leads to destruction, the other to life.
We have to reject the broad road. This means we will have to stop associating with friends who cannot walk with us.
We cannot compare ourselves to other people! We are exceptional people.
Two types of people: Those who belong to the majority vs those who will not bow to the pressure of the majority.
We must be willing to let go of self (self-denial) in order to walk on the narrow road. We cannot get comfort from walking with others on this road. We must walk with Christ!
We have to be transformed by the renewing of our minds and shake off the old and put on the new (Romans 12:2)
We are on the journey to death. We must take care not to die on the broad road, but on the narrow road.
Proverbs 14:12 (scripture God spoke to me)
Psalm 27:14 (scripture God spoke to me)
We limit ourselves (and God) when we modify what He was made us by seeing ourselves as the world sees us.
