Observation #1 – We flee or fight the very One who longs to save us.
Genesis 3:8–10 NKJV
8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
John 3:17 NKJV
17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Observation #2 - Your salvation is of such personal interest to God that He was willing to personally suffer in order to save you.
Philippians 2:5–8 NKJV
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
Observation #3 – By Christ’s death we are made alive and by His stripes we are healed.
Hebrews 9:22 NKJV
And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
Hebrews 9:12–14 NKJV
Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
