Jesus appeals to the thirsty

a. (v.37) Jesus says “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!”
Jesus stood and shouted, with the purpose of gaining every ones attention.
In the crowds.
This group of people who questioned whether Jesus was a good man or was he leading people astray.
The bible says in Jn 7:12 “some said, he is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.

Jesus encourages belief

a. (v.38) Jesus says “Anyone who believes in me may come and drink!”

Jesus promises the Spirit

a. (v.38b) “For Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”

Jesus will be glorified

a. (v.39b) “But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.”
