Our society is constantly bombarding us with messages on how we are to be perfect. And if you do not match up to those messages or actually make a mistake, shame and guilt can rush in. This sets us up to judge others according to these social rules in order to build up our own image. There are people today who feel like the church is not a safe place for them, especially if their secrets were known. What kind of church do we want to be? How can we be real with ourselves as well as real with others? What are we willing to do to be the church for the broken? If we are honest with ourselves, we are all broken people.
