Revelation
Revelation
We’ve been studying about victory. To the one who is victorious there will be given everlasting life and authority in the kingdom. What do we do with that information?
We see in these letters to the church in Revelation that Christ is the one who searches hearts and numbers the deeds of men. He is primarily the one who judges, disciplines, and corrects us.
Before every letter Jesus reminds us of His authority over the churches. What is that about?
Romans 14:1-4
Romans 14:1-4
This matter seems trivial to us but it wasn’t to them.
Why can’t we judge? Because God has accepted them. Who are you to judge someone else’s servant.
This is important. Because it’s not saying the person is right or wrong. Paul is saying it’s not up to me.
Bo Burnham: Can any shut up, about anything, for one hour? We are not the arbitrators of reality. You want to know what I think about what that person is doing? No not really.
Is Christ real or not? Is He the one that leads and changes people? Or has He left that up to us? According to Revelation he’s the one who searches our hearts and deeds and according to Paul he’s the master we answer to.
Romans 14:5-9
Romans 14:5-9
“For this reason Christ died and rose again” what reason? So that we would belong to Him. To say it another way; so that He would be given authority over us by the Father. Follow this root.
James 4:6-12
James 4:6-12
When you judge another person, even though you wouldn’t say this it’s true, you are trying to assume the role Christ has purchased for Himself by His death and resurrection.
Who are you to judge your neighbor?
Acts 5:33-39
Acts 5:33-39
What should we do? Nothing? You would just let people do whatever they thing is right without correcting them?!
Yes, it’s not our job to be the holiness police, not even among brothers.

Conclusion
I know that there is a right time and good reasons to disagree with and critique one another, however, because it’s primarily Christ’s responsibility and it’s all His authority we need to be much more careful in the church than we have been. Because if we are too critical and make the wrong call then we could end up fighting against God, trying to judge from His throne a servant that is being obedient to their master.
A simple way to say it: If it’s not about you, keep it that way.
