Tension of bad things to good people

Question: How do we respond when Life doesn’t make sense?

This is Solomon’s quest today

Pray

Two Responses

Trying Harder — will destroy you

Giving up and giving in — will kill you

Fearing God will get you both

you’ll know you can’t achieve perfection

you’ll desire to live in obedience

Don’t be overly wise — what does this mean?

Wisdom is an advantage but know it’s limits

further more — but much good is undone by sin

Sin is the problem.

Everyone is a sinner, even the most righteous

Pharisees and sinners.

Jesus came to both and spoke truth

Wisdom can’t answer everything

It is beyond reach it is farther than the ocean horizon and deeper than the depths of the ocean

We simply cannot comprehend God’s ways (isaiah 55)

Yet what can be found by wisdom:

temptation is real

cannot find out

no one is righteous

God is not the problem, we are.

What then do we do if this is true?

What did Jesus do?

who died young, the most righteous person

He entrusted his life to God.
