Have Compassion
Introduction
Often I wonder what would the world be like if everyone had a little more compassion towards their neighbor. What if people would have compassion towards their neighbor instead of anger? What would the world look like if people chose compassion over showing how terrible of a person they are or why they deserve to be punished or cast down? What would that compassion look like? The word compassion carries with it such images such as a mother having compassion for her child who is sick and running a fever. Or perhaps it also brings to mind the picture of a hungry child receiving something to eat. Perhaps even better is the image of the person you don’t like being given help.
Today’s passage covers how Jesus had compassion on the people who flocked to him for help. These were strangers and not his friends of disciples. Think about the person or persons that perhaps you might not understand or agree with and whether you would help them in their time of need.
