Exodus 33:13–22 (KJV 1900)
13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. 14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. 15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. 16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth. 17 And the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. 18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. 19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. 20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. 21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: 22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
God’s Glory is His Goodness
it is the revelation of His name, His nature, that He is longsuffering, gracious, kind, merciful and faithful
Jesus was God’s mobile goodness
John 1:7–14 (KJV 1900)
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
two aspects of glory are always grace and truth. Glory which is God manifesting Himself, is always full of grace and truth for God’s Glory is always gracious and it is alway honest
which is where God wants us honest with him and ourselves
we live in a generation that only wants one aspect of His Glory the grace part. Healings, miracles, provision, prosperity but what about the truth.
They flocked to Jesus for the loaves and fishes, for the deliverances. but what happened when it came time to face the truth. turn from your ways, repent, sin no more,
if we are going to see His presence we have to be honest with ourselves.
acknowledge our transgressions and turn from our ways then He will show up and we will shine .
Exodus 34:29–30 (KJV 1900)
29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. 30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.
This is where God want us where we shine and reflect His Glory but do not see ourselves.
In His presence is fullness of Joy.
When you stay in the presence of God you will see more grace then law
moses when he went back up it was with a broken law and the grace of God rewrote it and said try again.
God will not cast you out because you failed regardless of how many times you have failed. he will always send you back down the mountain to try again
Here was the lawgiver and the law breaker with a broken law and God says ok i will rewrite and you go tell them to try again
