Perspective: a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.
Value: Consider (someone or something) to be important or beneficial; have a high opinion of…
Pastor J, are we getting it?
Are things suppose to be the same?
What did the last 16 months teach us?
As a pastor....
This is what I see......
Living Sacrifices / Selective Sacrifices / Dormant
I feel that some of us are stuck behind glass......
But.... my assignment is to keep the mission in front of us.....
Jesus is teaching in Luke 8 about the power of the word of God as a seed…
The word of God is a seed that leads to wholistic transformation…
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away. And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature. As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.
Bearing fruit means being doers of God Word!
But do you know how valuable you are?
Do we really understand that people need us?
Do we really understand the influence we have on others?
Do we really understand that are social media matters?
Do we really understand that they way respond to others matters?
Do we really that we are His image?
“No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light.
Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
God said…
The same word that spoke....
Is the same Word that lives in me…
Through the Holy Spirit!
Through me the word becomes flesh…
But God understands the value of light…
“No one after lighting a lamp covers it was a jar or puts it under a bed.”
No one....
God is saying…
The work I’ve done for you!
The work i’ve done in you!
Why would I want you covered?
We have to change our perspective about the light…
Luke 8:16 refers to those who hear God’s word (8:8, 15, 21) and let their light shine.
Doing His word / Shines His Word!
God creates a Stand / Stage
So he can separate the darkness from the light…
What is your perspective of darkness (EXAMPLE)?
WAKE UP - Our perspective has to change…
We have a mission to be the light…
To be living sacrifices…
To be His Image
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
