The Fruit Of The Spirit Is Joy

Victory in Jesus on the screen and the title of today's message is the fruit of the spirit in his Joy. I remember last week we talked about the fruit of the spirit is love. And remember, we said that love was pre-eminent Bible called it in riches. We said that love is practical and we said that love is permanent because this eternal remember, the Bible says, Love Never Fails. Love Never Ends. It is eternal. Well, today we come to the 2nd through the spirit and you'll find it in your Bible, Galatians chapter 5 and verse 22 and 23 weeks. So we'll put that up on the board on the screen and we can just read it from their relation 522 and 23.

All right, so this is what the Bible says. But the fruit of the spirit is love joy. He long-suffering on this goodness faithfulness gentlemen's self-control against such. There is no law. So today we're going to talk about the fruit of the spirit is Joy. Well, I know many of you are joyful this morning. House of the good doctor reports and things of that nature. Maybe your life is everything is going well. For you relationships. Are good, jobs are good, and a lot of people are happy or joyful because of that, but when you look around our world today, you don't see a whole lot of smile. You just don't see it with a condition that our world is in and sometimes people there Joy. And there's a difference between joy and happiness, but a lot of times people there, Joy or happiness, it will depend upon their circumstances. But when I'm healthy and feel good, I'm smiling when I'm not, I don't mind. I have a good job. Making good money. I smile if I lose my job or I don't like my job. I don't smile about that. If my relationships are going the way that I would like them. I smile if I'm having trouble or something, or if you're in a conflict with someone, not a lot of smiley. That's not Joy, that's happy. And that's how the world lives when you when you bet your life on the economy or when you bet it on your way to shift. Or when you bend it on, just the happenings and circumstances in life, your happiness meter will go up and down just like this because that's the way life goes. But it seems that meaning of the church or kind of caught this same disease, if you will. In a lot of Christians, don't understand really anything about The joy of the Lord that he has promised us. And I believe that of all of us who are saying and all of us who named Jesus as her savior, He wants us to be joyful, Christmas. Not just because of our circumstances. That's not, that's not what I'm talkin about. He wants us to be Jesus described this joy as his joy. In other words, he saying you should have my joy, enjoy his atmosphere, in which we should live our whole thing. I'm almost to yourself this morning despite your circumstances. Despite what's happening? Are you a joyful person? Someone would look in your face. Will they see Joy? Or do they see discouragement sadness? We ought to be Georgia, so I don't have to point to that. In the very first one, is this the source of joy in our life? I want to talk about the source of joy in our life. Now the Bible speaks of certain events in our lives. That are all joy for me. Not hit here, just a few up. The Bible says that there's joy in Salvation. Aren't you think what? You're saying this morning Joy in Salvation? The Bible says that when you're baptized, it is a joyful event, the finest cell in several places says that there is joy, in reading the word of God, we out to be joyful that we have the word and can read it. It says that there's joy in prayer. We ought to be joyful because of the opportunity that we have. And matter fact, Christian Joy is so you need. The Bible says that we can be joyful even in times of discouragement. think of Jenny this morning, The great time of discouragement for her. But yet if you read some of the things she puts on Facebook and how she's giving God the glory, you would think she is just as content as she can be, where she isn't locked because that's the joy of it. Doesn't depend on circumstances. Are you laying in the hospital or laying at the beach? Looking out the front window, it doesn't matter. You say she's content where she hasn't called, she knows that the lord loves her and the Lord has his best interest for her and he's going to take care of her. That's what gives you Joy. That's the joy that I'm talkin about. GK Chesterton, he said that he said Joy is the gigantic secret in the Christian Life. And I believe that that is true in any place. Other than in the life of a person that knows Jesus Christ. Let me give you three aspects of the source of joy in your life. Number one, the center of Joey's in Christ. And we have this up here on the board. I watch what I'm 15 and 11 John 15:11, this is what Jesus said. He said these things. I have spoken to you that my joy. That's the joy of Christ May remain in you and that your joy may be full. So you see that the center of joy is in Christ? He's the, the concept here, the source of our joy. You see here's what it is. if you have Christ Living on the inside of you, would we do if we Christians, Reprise live out his life through you in the power of the Flies live his life out through you so that you can become what he is. Becoming more like Christ each and every day and he says my joy is his Joy. He says I give to you so that your joy may be full. He said it would be full of joy in the world. But there's no place that you can find Christian Joy. Except in Christ, you have to be in class. The only place to find Christian Joy. He is the only source of Joy wealth prices, the same Wilson characteristic, enjoy, as I said, it is for a little bit of Joy or maybe you'll be joyful at times. He didn't save Happiness. He says, no he says I want your joint and I want it to be full and it is everything. Joy, if you want to say it I would put it like this. It's going on. That's the way I would say it is fully or Joy on steroid. 100% look what Peter says in 1st Peter 1:8 what he says about this Joy. He says. I'm having not seen you love me, he says you haven't seen price but you love it though. Now, you do not see him yet. Believe in speaking of Faith. You rejoice with joy in its principal, and full of Glory. That's what Peter said. He says, we've never seen Christ. Never put her hands on it yet we believe on it. And by believe it, we have joy. That is unspeakable, unspeakable joy. And we haven't even seen it now. I was reading the sermon this past week by Charles Spurgeon. And he was a preacher in London, back in the nineteenth century and he ran a boarding school for boys and he had a Headmaster there in the Headmaster. His name is Justice. Brett says, one night least two boys were talking that we're staying there, they were teenagers and one of them said to the other side, where you think, mr. Brady goes at night. During the twelve-hour day, will they didn't see him at night and one of the children said, where do you think this would happen if you do to help? And he said, why do you think that that he goes to heaven every night? He said he said, every morning when he greets as he has the biggest smile on his face, had to be in heaven. The look like that. He was so joyful what? Someone asked mr. Grady, why he was filled with joy? And I wrote this down, this is what he said. He said, Joe is the flag. That is swollen over the castle of my heart. When the king is on the throne, you say it leaves the joy. Joy is determined by whether or not Jesus Christ is at home in your life. That's what determines your joint if he is, since he's the source of joy and since he's the center of joy, you can have this joy and will be full of hype. Well said, So we looked at the stores, we looked at the characteristic now, the continuity of disjointed and the continuity of it, let me just say this, it is hot. In other words the joy of Christ doesn't go away. Have you noticed in your own life Earthly joy and go away. If you noticed that have you discover how simple it is for your gladness, the turn in the side. In a matter of No Time. Have you discovered how sometimes in the morning things are sweet and by the afternoon things are better. In our life and you discovered how some people who you thought were friends a week later, you discover there, you'll get any. You say nothing is stable in this world. You can't count on much anymore but the joy of Christ is just like love is never any it never end. It is constant Joy. It survives all the difficult times in life because this Joy is not hinge on circumstances in person with Jesus Christ. Looking John 16:22 what Jesus said for the disciple. John 16:22 this is what Jesus said to his disciples in. This is right before he was going to buy it.

There for you. Now. How far? Oh, because he told her, he knew your heart will rejoice in your joy. No one will take from you and, you know, that this morning if you are Christian Jesus says he wants to give you the joy and that you have the kind of joy that you will never lose. You'll never lose it. And no one can take it from you. How to fight this Joy? He gives not only does it flourish. Not only does it survive the times of crises but it also flourishes in the Mist across. He's not one of my favorite story in the Bible is when Paul and Silas remembering that where they were put in jail and they were beating and they're probably going to be killed that next morning. And you remember what happened at midnight when they were singing and praising God? They would do. Even though they had just been beating their back, probably have been bleeding. They were probably going to be till the next morning. But yet they were singing praises to God because they had joy in their hearts. When you can be in jail and be be in your life, maybe pay them. But yet you can sing praises to God, that's the joy that we are talking about, Joey makes it possible. For all of us to accept the hard things in life that we all go through hard things and we can accept it because we know that there's a deep abiding, presence lunch, more eternal. Then all the little circumstances that's happening in our life. So far in the continuity of it is possible, we can't lose it. No one can take from. Now you say alright, I'm Christian. But I don't have a lot of joy in my life but what's the problem? How do I get this Joy with that's my last point and that's what I want to share with you. Now the secret of joy in your life. Now I want to give you four things here. That's the secret to Joy. It's really not a secret. You probably heard me say these four things and they are they are there a million times while I've been preaching. Hey surrender. Her. Why the Jeep? The first or the first secret if you will of This Joy begins? When you surrender your life, Virginia member what they do with your salvation.

Submit yourself to the Holy Spirit. Are we going to talk more about this as we move on? The look. What? Romans 14:17? Set, Romans 14:7. For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking. Remember the beatings? They think everything is about fun and correct. Beer Paul says, well. I got joy in the Holy Spirit go together. If you have not submitted your life through the control of the holy spirit so that he can bear fruit in you, you will be laughing This Joy. So let me just called right here and say that I think the main reason that many Christians are not Georgia, not about you. Look at them, they're just gloomy do. The reason is because I'm not submitted by to the Holy Spirit. In other words, they're not being led by the spirit, they're being led by The Flash and then your led by the flash. Your circumstances will control whether or not you have joy or not, and you'll be just like a sine wave up and down all the time. So, let me ask you this. What is your relationship like with the Holy Spirit?

I'm not talking about Godfather. I'm not talk about God, son Jesus. What is your relationship like with the Holy Spirit? Does he control your life? Let me ask you this. When you pray, you have a pray to the Holy Spirit. So, what if I did say God, that's okay. And God will take those prayers and he knows your heart work in those prayers, but let's be specific and called by name fiction. When we need help, we need to understand, we needed bright, just the gods. We need to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit, but if we don't then he doesn't control our life and if he does you will see your life will be transformed and I'm convinced one of the reasons we don't have joy in the Lord is because of this contest is going on. In our life, we talked about 2 weeks ago, if the flash of tug-of-war, The Flash is pulling one. End of the holy spirit is full and the other. Can we have to give him control later on in probably 6 7, 8 weeks? We don't talk about being led by the spirit. When we see that I'm on it. I want to talk about how that's in the passive voice, which means it's not us doing the acting. It's allowing the spirit to lead us. You say what? I said just to happy. Well, it is passive but to allow work on our part cuz what we have to do.

Supposed to be late. I just kind of doing nothing. I'm just being late. That's true. But before your land we have to crucify the Flesh and that's her job to do that. We'll talk more about that and a later message but what we want we want to be filled with Spirit give our life totally into him and he only brings his Joy when he is totally in control. So what do we do? If we surrender our life price have to be a Christian to have the door. If you're not a Christian you won't have that Joy. You don't understand the Bible. All of it just seems remote. You have to be saying Surrender Your Life price within Symetra, life through the holy spirit, that hoverboard going on lot easier said than done letter c. Word of God.

You said what in the world does that have to do with you by studying the word of God? Well, if you don't go to place at that time in the Bible says, when God's word, whenever and expounded, the word of God. The Bible says that there was great joy. Among did you know that when people come to church and are hungry for the word of God?

Then you can see it on their faces. You know, that, you know, that I can look at and I can look at faces when I'm preaching, and I can tell the ones who are taking it in, and which ones do you want? You can just see it on someone's face when they're locked into the word of God. You'll see a source of joy in their countenance. There's a glad response called the word of God. Has become the joy of their life. Not look what Jesus said in John chapter 17 and verse 13, John 17, and verse 13. This is what Jesus say.
