Certainly, he would have tried to convince them that GOD had intended ill for them from the beginning, and all of GOD’s goodness had been merely a ploy, a ruse from the start. Further, the enemy would have tried to spin GOD’s judgement and mercy to fit the enemy’s scheme of thwarting GOD’s plans for their good.
