Living up to Your Potential – Part 1
Judges 6:11-12

We find the young man Gideon, threshing wheat behind the winepress.
The Mideanites were destroying all their crops, and so it was in secret that young Gideon was threshing for the preservation of the family.
When God comes to him He calls him a man of valor.
Some facts to consider:

1.
Gideon has never proved himself as a man of valor.
2.      Gideon lacks the self-confidence to rise to this position.
3.      God sees the potential and calls him.
/I would like now to say to you that, you are a Gideon!
/
/                        You have been called as men and women of valor!/
/                                    There is nothing God calls you to that you cannot do! /

Some practical suggestions:

*1.
**Never say I can’t, and never give up!*
The scripture tells us “I can do all things through Christ…” Phil.4:13

/The man who says I can’t will always be correct, and never will; but the man who says I can, eventually will./
/If Columbus had turned back, no one would have blamed him.
Of course, no one would have remembered him either./

*2.      **Confidence comes by effort in spite of failure.*
/Life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it./
John Maxwell

/Patience and perseverance have a magical affect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.
/John Quincy Adams

*3.
**Potential is nothing more than effort in motion.*
/God was not prophesying of Gideon’s success, but revealing the opportunity, for potential to be exercised.
