Under Spiritual Attack

You Know there’s spiritual attack when there’s opposition from the enemy to keep you from living out your faith.

1 Peter 5:8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

1Thessalonians 2: 18 For we wanted to come to you—certainly I, Paul, did, again and again—but Satan blocked our way.

Your being deceived to sin

1 Chronicles 21:1-4 Satan rose up against Israel and caused David to take a census of the people of Israel. 2 So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army, “Take a census of all the people of Israel—from Beersheba in the south to Dan in the north—and bring me a report so I may know how many there are.” 3 But Joab replied, “May the Lord increase the number of his people a hundred times over! But why, my lord the king,

2. You are distracted from God

Hebrews 12:1-2Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

Jesus Visits Martha and Mary

Luke 10:38 As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. 39 Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. 40 But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.”

41 But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! 42 There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

3. Feeling discouraged, defeated or depressed

4. Feeling Condemned

Mark14:64 Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death

Condemn - to pronounce guilt and a punitive sentence on someone in a legal context

To know or observe wrongdoing with disapproval or condemnation

1 John 3:20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

5. Loss of spiritual desire

Spiritual Apathy -typically happens the there is some sort of disappointment or you just being lazy
