21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
22 “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
23 “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’
Not everyone but. Those who do the will of my father.
Jesus ties in the commandments with he speaks about.
Jesus was the perfect expression of the will of the father
So jesus says if you want to experience the life of the kingdom and eternal life in the kingdom. You must be like me.
Look at
8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.
To do the will of the Father me must be connected to the heart of the man Jesus.
To partner with him to follow him.
What it truly is to be a Christian and a disciple is a follower.
Jesus says
And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple (NIV) Luke 14:27
27 “Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
And in mark 8 we find out what happens for those who do not follow him and partner with his heart.
34 And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
35 “For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.
36 “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?
37 “For what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
38 “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
That text says when he come in the glory of his father and our talk about that say day when he say..
In that Day- speaks of the day of Judgment.
Notice not few or some but many. Will say
Have I not.
Have I not doe works. Good works.
But notice
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
Works are not the means to God.
Works are the result of a relationship with Jesus (faith in Jesus) and the free gift of grace.
17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.
18 But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”
19 You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.
20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?
Our faith relationship with Jesus produces a work that cause us to know Him.
Jesus says.
19 Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.
The only way that we can do the will of the father is to know the Jesus.
I will say,, I will declare.
I never knew you.
That word knew in the greek. Mean intimacy.
I never have been in deep relationship with you.
The only way we can do the will of the father is that we have deep intimacy and long love for the man Jesus
Who is a real man.
Who knows and delights in us.
If you love church more than you love the man jesus you love gatherings more that you love fellowship.
If you love to sing Christian songs more than the man jesus. You love music more than you love worship.
If you love you bible more that you love the man jesus you love history more that reality.
If you love preaching more than the man Jesus you love entertainment more than the truth.
If you love healing, deliverance prophecy and signs and wonders more than you love Jesus. You love a show more than you love the real sign and wonder.
Jesus says zeal for your house will consume me…
That what I want to be my cry.
Can I know you
I wanna know you.
I have to know you
More than any manifestation
More than any song
More than any sermon.
I wanna know you.
I close with this..
He died in confinement in his cell on May 30, 1972. After Watchman Nee's death, when his niece came to collect his few possessions, she was given a scrap of paper that a guard had found by his bed. What was written on that scrap may serve as Watchman Nee's testament:
"Christ is the Son of God Who died for the redemption of sinners and was resurrected after three days. This is the greatest truth in the universe. I die because of my belief in Christ. Watchman Nee."
