The central idea of the text is that Joseph did not do others as they had done to him because God reversed the burden of evil intended for him into a blessing to him and those intended evil against him.

Easy now, you have nothing to fear; I’ll take care of you and your children.” He reassured them, speaking with them heart-to-heart.”
