Matthew 28:18-20

Jesus was plain about following Him - Luke 9:23; 14:27; Gal.2:20 The principle of discipleship and Christian growth is, “first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear” (Mark 4:28). The idea of maintaining a measure of Christian respectability by staying busy, attending aimless meetings, doing what seems right, in no way makes real disciples of the Lord Jesus. For the blade to grow requires spiritual food from the Word of God.

I. The Process of Discipleship.

A. The Pastor is to make disciples out of saints. Ephesians 4:11

B. The Lord gave instruction for this in the Great Commission.
Matt 28:20 “whatsoever I have commanded you”
