When he heard that it was Jesus, he responded

He responded to hearing that Jesus was within reach
You must respond to the presence of the Lord
Everytime that we gather together Jesus is within reach
Wherever 2 or 3 are gathered together in my name…(If he’s not in the midst, perhaps you may want to reevaluate the purpose of your gathering)
He responded by crying out to Jesus - Jesus, Son of David (recognized him as the promised Messiah and king)
Have mercy on me - Show me the lovingkindness of God (his mercy endures forever)

You Must Get Louder

Break the social norms with unashamed praise
Outcomes say hold your peace, but he got louder in the shushing
When life says hold your peace, get louder
Closed mouths don’t get fed
Disrupt your personal status quo
Noise draws attention/sends a distress signal
A particular noise gets God’s attention
When he got louder, Jesus stood still and called for him

When Jesus Calls get moving

Cast away your garment
Lay aside every weight and the sin...
Rise Up - mindset (as a man thinks so he is)
See yourself from God's perspective
We have the victory through Jesus Christ - I am the resurrection and the life
With Jesus You can get up from any situation/ I can do all things through Christ...
I am more than a conqueror
Come to Jesus (this is your responsibility)
Coming to Jesus means that you decide to make him both Lord and Savior...
He's Lord whether or not you acknowledge it
Savior is more palatable, because it doesn't require any action on our behalf besides believing
Lord requires sacrifice - submission - He's already Lord with or without your acknowledgement
Every knee shall bow...

Bartimaeus did all of the above blindly...He used Blind Faith

Sometimes you have to go forward blindly
For we walk by faith and not by sight
Sometimes you have to just trust God
You will not have all of the details
Prov. 3:5-6 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Walk blindly, trusting God
Lack of details is not an excuse
Abraham believed God…
Righteousness /God's friend… James 2:23
Spades - Take a blind - without looking at the cards -
If you can trust me without the details, I’ll give you more than you would receive with knowing all the information.

What Do You Want?

To receive my sight…. Do you know what you want?
By prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God
Giving thanks before you get it is Blind Faith

Faith came first, then the healing

Your faith has made you whole
Faith came before the healing
His faith was Evidenced by his actions while still blind
Somebody's been pushing their way to get in the house/presence of the Lord, and nobody knows what it takes for you to get here...
You must out your faith in action
Some people are waiting for perfection to come to Jesus…
He's not looking for perfection, he's looking for faith in action
Is your faith in action while you're still sick, hurting, broken, broke, in need, bleeding, blind….
Can you praise before you get it?

Praise like you need a miracle, and praise like you already have it.

Rebuke the “it don't take all that”… the Status quo/ rebuke the quiet and press into his presence

After receiving his sight, he followed Jesus

Don’t get what you want and leave now…. Keep following
Be not weary in well doing, you will reap, if you faint not
He wanted to keep reaping
I need more than just this miracle.
