Constant pursuit

Society feasts on the desires of people to have more things
jobs, clothes, electronics etc.
In constant pursuit of what is bigger and better
Gospel of Vespers Luke 14
Luke 14:7 NKJV
7 So He told a parable to those who were invited, when He noted how they chose the best places, saying to them:
The problem is that the pursuit never ends
you can always find something bigger and better to pursue
With no end in sight we become heavy laden
1 Timothy 6:9–10 NKJV
9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Contentment

1 Timothy 6:6–8 NKJV
6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.
Looking at our situation and being content is always challenging but not impossible.
The surroundings and provision of the day were sparse. The disciples were also very tired from their trip.
Luke 9:12–13 NKJV
12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted place here.” 13 But He said to them, “You give them something to eat.” And they said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we go and buy food for all these people.”
The meal was simple and the people were content.
