Introduction

The vast difference between followers of Jesus and the world.
An observable difference.
“If being a Christian were a crime, would there be enough evidence to convict you?” Billy Graham (David Otis Fuller)
People should be able to observe your life and see a difference.
Galatians 5:22–23 ESV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
That “but” at the beginning.
Galatians 5:19–21 ESV
Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
There is to be a different worldview that Christians have, a different attitude, a different set of morals.
The difference that exists between the tower of Babel and what God had intended for the descendants of Noah.
Genesis 11:1 ESV
Now the whole earth had one language and the same words.
Genesis 11:3 ESV
And they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for mortar.
Genesis 11:4 ESV
Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.”
Genesis 11:6 ESV
And the Lord said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.
Genesis 11:7 ESV
Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another’s speech.”
Genesis 11:8 ESV
So the Lord dispersed them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city.
Genesis 11:9 ESV
Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth. And from there the Lord dispersed them over the face of all the earth.
Worldly Perspective
Come! Let’s maintain our sameness!
Come! Let’s make something that prevents going!
Come! Let’s build something for our own glory!
Godly Perspective
Come! Let’s frustrate their comfort!
Come! Let’s cause them to go around the world!
Acts 1:8 ESV
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 2:1 ESV
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.
Acts 2:4 ESV
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
A reversal of Babel.
