The God of the Possible
Genesis 18:1-4, 9-18
Jeremiah 32:17
Jeremiah 32:17 AV
Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
Some messages we are going to try to hit a heavy subject about enduring, some days we are going to try preach on a fundamental doctrine of the Word of God, sometimes about sin; but then there will be encouraging reminders about some truths from the Word of God. Today can I remind you that God is the God of the possible. That is the title of the message - the God of the Impossible.
God can do anything, anything, anything;
God can do anything, but fail.
He can save, He can keep;
He can cleanse, and He will;
God can do anything
But fail.
Tell story of Abraham and Sarah. God came to Abraham when he was hundred years old and told him that He would give he and Sarah a son. Isaac was born to them when Sarah was ninety years old.
I want to show you today that God can do anything. God presented Abraham with the question, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
Then we saw in Jeremiah 32 that “....there is nothing too hard for thee:"
There is no way to measure the number of problems, difficulties, heartaches, and hardships that exist here today, but I do want to assure you that there is nothing that is too hard for the Lord.

I. THERE IS NO HARDSHIP THAT GOD CANNOT HANDLE

life is full of the hardships. Difficulties abound and there older you are the more you endure and learn to deal with. If you don’t realize it yet, you will soon. I’ve come to know that there is a lot of it that I cannot handle, there is much of it that I’m not able to bear. But I have a God in heaven who can.
Can I remind you of one of the sweetest passages in the Bible.
Matthew 11:28–30 AV
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Often times God may allow certain hardships to come our way to shake us out of our lethargy and indifference. He will put trials in the way to increase our strength, endurance and patience. But he never meant for you to do it alone. He wants you to depend on HIm.
Nothing gets by God. Nothing can get to you without God knowing it.
Sickness. Trouble in the family, even unbelief.
Think of the magnitude of the crossing of the Israelites over the Red Sea on dry ground. Nearly 3 million people. Not one was lost. That’s too hard for man to accomplish.
(The little boy who told about his S/S lesson where the Israelites crossed the Red Sea. He said that Moses called the Corps of Engineers and they built a bridge over the sea and everyone walked over safely. The father asked, “Son, is that what the teacher told you?” The boy answered, “No, but if you don’t believe that, you surely won’t believe what that teacher told me.”
The little lad’s lunch of 5 loaves and two fishes - 5000 men plus women and children.
There is nothing too hard for the Lord.
I think of Gideon in the Bible. He had 300 soldiers to fight against the Midianites. Judg 7:12 "And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude."
There is no hardship too hard for God.
I think of some of our older people. Most of them live on a fixed income, and it is fixed pretty low. Some are not able to care for their home or mow the grass. Yet I know that God can and will master any and all hardships. Luke 1:37 "For with God nothing shall be impossible."
We are coming to a real crisis time in the history of this nation. It will change drastically in the next few years. Who knows what will happen? Listen, there is nothing too hard for the Lord
He can meet your need. He can arrange for that new roof you need. He can fix that car that won’t run properly. He can provide money for those bills that are pressing.
There is no hardship that He cannot correct, so lift up your head, God is still in control.

II. THERE IS NO HOME THAT GOD CANNOT HELP

America’s Homes Are In Shambles. The average Christian home is in struggling.
There has been an outright rejection of Biblical principles amongst Believers, let alone the lost world.
Indebtedness, entertainment, lies, laziness, selfishness, and on and on. The roles in the home have been lost to the our woke culture.
Most marriages cannot take that stress, and so divorce is a common result.
Some of you may be at your wits end in your marriage, in raising the children; maybe there is no peace in your home.
Matthew 19:26 AV
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
God has a plan for the family - He can restore a marriage, fix a family, restore a home to what you would hope it to be - but it can only be through the God of the possible.

III. THERE IS NO PRAYER THAT GOD CANNOT PROVIDE

God may not answer your prayer the way you want it answered, but He will answer it.
Hear this; You can’t pray, “Thy kingdom come,” then do everything in your power to prevent it from coming.
Many pray for God to save souls here in this city, and then spend the entire evening watching TV. That kind of praying won’t work. There is no need to pray for souls to get saved if you are not willing to try to get them saved.
Psalm 81:10 AV
I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
Matthew 7:7–8 AV
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
The reason most prayers are not answered is that most people stop praying before the answer comes or they are praying wrongly as when the Bible says when we ask things amiss.
There is no prayer that God cannot answer. He can answer your prayers too.
Keep on praying the whole night through,
Keep on praying,
He’ll see you through.

IV. THERE IS NO STORM THAT GOD CANNOT STOP

God gives us several places in the Bible where He calms the storm. Apparently He wants us to know that He can calm any storm. There is no storm that God cannot calm.
Peter walking on the water. Matt. 14.
The Disciples in Mark 4.
Paul in ship that was in the storm in Acts 27.
Psalm 107:22-31
Does this passage describe your life? Are the waves of life swallowing you up?
Your storm may be about to take you under, but listen, there is no storm that God cannot calm.
That mother who is trying to raise her children for God. He knows your situation. He knows the problems you face. He knows the answers. He knows where the money for the bills will come from. Just keep on doing that which is right. Keep on trusting Him.
That father who is working two jobs trying to make ends meet. Pressures are mounting up. Bills are stacking up. The end seems to be nowhere in sight. Don’t run. Just keep on doing right, and He will bring the storm to a calm.
There is no storm that God cannot calm.

V. THERE IS NOT AN ASSEMBLY THAT GOD CANNOT AWAKEN

Many churches of our generation are changing. They change there name to become more socially accepted; they change their philosophy music; they adapt to the latest trends; they conform to the world; the cave to wokeism. All churches ultimately do these things or they die. You have to either change with society or you will one die - Oh, there is another option, by the grace of God allow Him to Revive us Again.
Habakkuk 3:2 (AV)
...O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.
Psalm 85:6 AV
Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
2 Chronicles 7:14 AV
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14 is a plain direct verse that is as true today as is was when Solomon spoke the words.
As Believers, we must thoroughly humbles ourselves, get on our knees and pray, seeking God in our personal life, family life, church life, as well as our public life.
We need to turn from our sin and wickedness.
Then God says he will hear, he will forgive, and he will heal us and our land.

VI. THERE IS NOT A SOUL THAT GOD CANNOT SAVE

Please understand a couple of things that I think we can all agree with:
There is a God in heaven.
The God in heaven has told us about Himself.
HIs Word reveals this to us.
His Word says this:
1 Corinthians 6:9–10 AV
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:21 & Ephesians 5:5 reiterate these verses.
Revelation 21:8 AV
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
But with those verses, who then can be saved, which of us are good enough. None of us can be saved on our own.
Romans 3:23 AV
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
The goodness is not in you and not in me - but the only mercy and only grace is because of Christ.
Romans 5:8 AV
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
That son. That daughter. That son-in-law, or daughter-in-law. Father, mother. There is no soul too hard for God to save. Don’t give up, just keep on praying and trusting God to save them.
There is no soul too hard for God. If they will respond to His Word. If they will hear the Word of God and recieve it, that God loves them, that He died for them, that he wants to save them.
That He wants to save you.
Luke 1:37 AV
For with God nothing shall be impossible.
I wish that we really believed that today. I wish that each member of this church really believed that nothing is impossible with God.
God can do anything.
“Is anything too hard for the Lord?
Jeremiah said, “... there is nothing too hard for thee:"
