Scripture: Mt 24:4-14

4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

I. SEEK the Lord Daily

  • Pray and talk to Him every day
  • Read His Word for guidance and instruction

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. (1 Chr 16:11)

He did evil because he had not set his heart on seeking the Lord. (2 Chr 12:14)

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. (Ps 34:10)

This is what the Lord says to Israel: “Seek me and live.” (Amos 5:4)

I will stretch out my hand against Judah and those who live in Jerusalem… “those who turn back from following the Lord and neither seek the Lord nor inquire of him... 17 I will bring distress on the people… because they have sinned against the Lord.” (Zephaniah 1:6, 17)

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. (Isa 40:31)

  • Follow Jesus’ example on how to seek the Father
  • Find out what are His desires for your life each new day

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. (Mk 1:35)

Luke 4:42; 5:16; 6:12; 9:18; 9:28b; 11:1; 22:39-41 – 7 occasions and situations recorded in one gospel.

II. LISTEN to the Holy Spirit

  • God communicates to us by means of His Spirit.
  • Hear what He has to say to you everyday
  • Be sensitive to His leading and guidance

19 While Peter was still thinking about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Simon, three men are looking for you. 20 So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them, for I have sent them.” (Acts 10:19-20)

The Holy Spirit will never lead you astray:

  • He will lead you to fulfil God’s will for your life
  • He will accomplish God’s purposes in and through your life
  • Be totally dependent on Him

III. OBEY His Prompting

  • Do whatever He says to you

23 Then Peter invited the men into the house to be his guests. The next day Peter started out with them, and some of the believers from Joppa went along. 24 The following day he arrived in Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends. (Ac 10:23-24)

There are many things to do, but WHAT is HE asking you to do?

  • Just do it!
  • Your life and testimony will be a blessing to others

9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (Gal 6:9-10)

IV. WALK Humbly Before God

  • Do not boast of your accomplishments
  • Without Him, you are nothing
  • Give Him all the glory

I am the Lord; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols. (Isa 42:8)
