The Fruit Of The Spirit Is Peace

All right, I don't have to deal with but they were going to talk about remember series Victory in Jesus. And we're going over the fruit of the spirit. And today, I'm going to talk about the fruit of the spirit is p. I remember, we've already talked about the fruit of the spirit is love. Agape. Love how it is, pre-eminent go and how it is. Permanent eternal, love it. Yes. Last week, we talked about Joey, we talked about the source of our joy which is God. And then we talked about the secret of Joy which is the word of God in the spirit of God and I gave you some practical application. There will the day we going to talk about the fruit of the spirit is peace. Only have two points. That shouldn't take me very long today. How many times you heard me say that? But I have two points today. So let's go ahead and read our Tech, will put it up on the screen and you can turn their in your Bible. I'm going to look at the screen. So this is what the Bible says, duration 522 and 23, but the fruit of the spirit is love agape love. It is Joy cars.

And Pete's. Long-suffering, kindness goodness faithfulness, gentleness self-control against up. There is no law. I was going to stop at the end of the bed and do it right now. I want you to look at this first and I want you to look at the first three characteristics of the fruit of the spirit love joy peace. But they were talking about. And then, look at the last group faithfulness, gentleness self-control you lookin, would you look inward to yourself? The display those characteristics. So we look to God, we look outward to others. We look inward for sale. Today, we talked about about the fruit of the spirit is peace. If you look at any nation in the world, you will see that you can tell what they think about East. From their architecture, you know, that bank of the United States we have the Statue of Liberty. What does that mean? That's just a welcoming sign for everyone who comes into our country. Saying you can come here and you can live here in Freedom. It's a sign of Peace. If you go to Israel, there's a statue. You there. It's called the statue of Shalom. What does that mean?

You go where the where they have in the Olympics. Tokyo Tokyo, there's a statue. There was someone reaching toward heaven and underneath that, statue in Greece in Japanese, it says agape, love him people. You come to our country, we will welcome you and we will love you and Bill, there's peas here. There's always a desire no matter what nation you're in. There's always a desire for peace and you can tell that just by the architecture me on a certain Nation, but here's the problem. It seems that they have all these architectural statues and all they just fall short but they just fall short not only within Nations but within our own lives as well. Cuz we're all looking and searching for peace, we won't be in our hearts and in our lives but you look around and you say, but there's no peace in recorded history. 30 100 years in 3100 years out of those 3100, there's been two hundred and eighty-six years that work warless Across the world, just 286 out of 3100 it in those 3100 years of recorded history. There's been over eight thousand peace treaty signed. But we look for peace, we won't be. But for some reason we can't find, let me just say that. The problem is not the nation. Combination won't be won't fix the problem. the problem is with nature human naked, the problem is in the heart, because the nature of humanity, Is separated from God. And as long as a person's nature along as a person's heart remains unchanged and Untouched. By God, that person will never experience peace. You'll never have it in your life, things might go. Well, you may have a good job and we have a good marriage. You may have healthy children, But you will never experience the piece that the Bible talks about that passes, all understanding. Tell a person knows what it means to be at peace with himself. The peace with God, be at peace with those around him. That person can never know what true he is. Now there is a piece in our culture today. And it's brought about by drugs and alcohol, lots of people turn to drugs and alcohol. Do kind of damn the pain if you will, they don't want to face reality but what gives them. Peace is just drugs and alcohol because I don't have to think about how bad life is a piece that you can get in a mental institution. You know, some people are on so many drugs that they just kind of lay there in a comatose state. And if I do, he look so peaceful with all, they've done is given him drugged. So he won't feel the pain. But that's what type of piece that the world. Well, there's another side that you can be brainwashed. Sometimes we think we're peace when we are just controlling our hats and let me tell you what true peace, is it true? Peace. Is not only a calm exterior.

But it's a calm interior. Your come inside ucp's. Is this elusive quality? But everyone chasing a few people buy but I can't get past what the Bible says today. But the fruit of the spirit is peace. So that means that peace in your life, personal peace is a paint, you can buy No family, you won't find it in a palm reader. You're not going to find it in your job. You're not going to find it in your relationships. You won't find it in money and liquor and drugs is only found in Christ. The only place that you can find this piece for this piece, that God talks about is an individual personal peace. And that's what I want to talk about the day. We all want to start on the outside. That's why we signed so many peach trees. We have one nation over here in one nation or okay, we won't fight will sign a peace treaty they want. They want to start on the outside but the Lord doesn't start on the outside. He starts on the inside, the Lord work inside out culture work outside in, but we need to work inside out and give you the two points today. Who types of peace that the Bible talks about in the first one is simply list. Peace with God. We need peace with God. You say, what, what do you mean by that? There's one verse in Scripture that totally explains what I'm talking about is Romans chapter 5 verse one. Look at this bear for Remember when you said there for the bottle, you always need that. What is that? They're for, they're for, they're for having been justified by faith. Having been declared not guilty because of your faith in Christ. Having been declared righteous by faith in Christ and him alone. We have what we have. Got my talking about the peace of God. That's later, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. When you have faith, when you place your faith in Christ alone, we have peace with God. He said was that mean? Does that mean that if I haven't accepted Christ as my savior that I'm God to enemy The God that we are in a my war with God. If I have a place faith in Christ is that we are all God's children. That's not true but a lot of people look at it that way. God is love. He loves all of us. You mean to tell me that I'm at War at God will. The short answer is. Yes you are because God has 100% perfectly. Holy and we Perfectly simple, all and God cannot look at seeing. That's why I can turn it back on your son on the cross. Because he took the sins of the whole world, and God could not even look at. So he gave him to be sacrificed for the sins of the world. So I'm saying, how the world can I come to a holy God? I am at war with God. If I'm not say there's a tug of war going on in my heart, remember walking in the flash walking in the spirit. I may not be an atheist. I may not be an agnostic. I may not be hostile to Christianity but unless I've accepted Christ, I'm at war with God inside. There's a war going on inside of me. Well, as preachers apart from God. Bible says, we are at enmity with God. But what did God do about? Well, he provided in the house for all of us. He gave us Jesus Christ, so that we may have peace with God. So, let's look if you will for a second. Just think in your mind Apartments. Jesus. Reptile cross your mind. I want you to turn the cross. Bob White. Another word all the sudden cross looks like. Jesus, the son of God. Grabbing the hand of the Father in heaven. and with this hand, as the son of man, Rabbit Humanity in this hand. And bringing both that's what he did on the cross. God brought us together because only Jesus was the son of God and only Jesus was perfect. Son of man. He was 100% God and he was 100% when I see the cross stretched out. It's an invitation for all people to be at peace with God. You think we all have to be at peace with God. Let me tell you a word about the word. Greek, word is a rain. A And that word, Pete me to join together and that's what price did on the cross. He join those of us who were separated from God. Those of us who were at war against God, he brought us in joined us together. It's a picture of two opposing forces separated, but now reconciled, you say, well, I don't know, I don't know if I don't feel like we got, I've never accepted Christ. Let me know if you've never accepted Christ. Bible says, you are estranged from God. The Bible says, you are alienated from God. It says you are separated from God that we are enemies of God. In the Bible says, we are condemned by God. Now, that not sound like, it doesn't sound like, it sounds like two people that's at War, but Roman says there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ, Jesus, the wrong with the DM because we have been joined together by the cross. You see, Jesus is the one who saw the enmity between us and God. You accept him today and friends. I can guarantee you, you will have peace.

There's something that the Bible calls the peace of God. Let me say this before, we did get started on this one. It is possible to have peace with God, you're safe.

But you don't have to keep up. You say, why what do you mean? How do you know that? Well, just go to the local bookstore and look at the best sellers Christian, Bess up. Let me see what the best sellers, like. They don't talk about peace Christian best sellers popular. How do pandas sleep? How to overcome anxiety? How to defeat depression and dispersion? Why would those be the best sellers on the Christian book Market? If we all, if we have peace with God because we may have peace with God for which implies the peace of God. If we did, we wouldn't be buying all these books, about anxiety, depression, discouragement addiction, and all these other things. So, it's possible to be at peace with God, but not enjoy the peace of God, that Jesus music it when he was speaking to his disciples and telling them look, In a few days, I'm going to be crucified. The disciples didn't understand that it when he was telling them, that look at what Jesus said in John 14:27. This is what he said. I leave with my peace. I give to you not as the world gives. While I talk about the world. Peace. Do I give you let? Not your heart. Be troubled. Neither Let It Be Afraid. So, Jesus lifted his disciples and this is going to be fault. He saw trouble part. He saw fearful Hearts. They didn't understand why he had to die. He says, I want to give you my peace. Jesus is talking about equality that he wanted to give his disciples. He he he was saying, I want to give you something that you don't even have now as believer. I want to give you my peace. The peace from God. Let me ask you this morning. Do you have the peace of God in your life? How can you tell? Well let me just say is that intercom this in confidence and quite this quiet assurance that everything is okay in your life. Despite your life fall in the fall. That's the quiet. Sure, that we have when we have the peace of God, no matter what the circumstances are in our life. At the time, we still have this assurance that God is for me, that God loves me, but God is good, and he's going to see me through this. Do you have that in your life or is your life chaotic?

Are you a thermometer or a thermostat? How do you say yourself? Well, when the temperature rises, what does the mometer do Rises? The temperature gets cold. What is reactionary? Whatever, the situation is outside, it's either going to go up or down with us the way too many Christians are whatever their circumstances Arthur good. They'll be up. If there is a bad, they're going to be down. It's just a spiritual roller, coaster up and down up and down.

He controls the situation. It's hot in your house like it was in our house the other week and I was hot. I went to the thermostat and I turned it down to 70 to 72°. You see if your thermostat your state, you can't control the situation. You're not reactionary like a thermometer know, you can control the situation, and if you have the peace of God in your heart, then that can be the thermostat of your life. To keep you always at the right temperature for spiritually. That's the peace of God. You can be stable despite the circumstances or what's going on outside. That is the only thing that I know that will do it. You have to have that piece with inside out.

Miss peace of God and I want to give you a few ways. Some things that you need to know to have this the peace of God. Both the first one is simply this. We need to know the author of Peace if we're going to have the peace of God, to see the fruit of the spirit and all comes down in one package. There's some basic principle that keep coming to the surface again and again and sometimes they're almost embarrassing to mention them. Because you would think with all of us, all to know that what I'm about to tell you is not profound. It's kind of, like last week. It's simple, but it seems like many of us, do not understand. It's almost like we want to make this hard and we can get these books, happy marriage and 14 steps to Financial Security, and all. And then like the Lord saying, well if you don't have to make it so hard, it's just you just need to know a few things, but this is what I want to give you that. The first is, if you want the peace of God in your life. You need to really make sure that you know the author of Peace over and over about 78. Times in scripture the Bible calls, God the God of Peace. He's the God of Peace. Any real genuine peace. I always go back to the source and God is the source of our peace. He's the author of, If he created, he he made it, he knows how it works. All through peace will be centered on God so if you don't have to peace of God, but yet you have peace with God. You need your Center your life on him, you've got out of kilter you're looking at other things. Instead, you need to know the author of peace. Be, you need to know the Prince of Peace. Everybody turn to your right. And look at that Banner.

Who's the prince of peace. Jesus. But think about it, the author of Peace. God, the Father, the Prince of Peace is Jesus. If, you know the Opera piece, it's only because you have an understanding of the principal who is Jesus. Isaiah said something. I wish I could put this one on board, but you will keep him in. Perfect peace. Whose mind is stayed on you. God says, I will keep you in perfect peace. If your mind is focused on me, just what he said. So, we need to know the Prince of Peace. When we send her our thoughts on Jesus, let him feel Our Lives. All the sudden, as I said last week, God becomes big in our lives. I problems become small. God become large, and we know, peace because he is the Prince of Peace. We need to know the author of Peace. God, we need to know the Prince of Peace. The son, Jesus. And then see we need to know the spirit of peace. Now when Jesus was teaching his disciples that he was going to have to go away. Remember he said I'm going to send someone in my name so that was the Holy Spirit.

Play top one who comes in walks, beside you and he told the disciples that he had spoken, all these things about the Holy Spirit to give them peace. Look at it and John 16 and verse 33. We're talkin to hear about the spirit of peace. He said these things, I have spoken to talk about his speaking on the holy spirit that in me You may happy, he says, in the world you have tribulation be a good cheer. I have overcome the world. He said in me, I'm coming to live on the inside of you. He wanted them to know about the holy spirit so that they would know the spirit and understand how he would work in their life and how he could bring them Peace. So the Holy Spirit, lives are peace in our lives every single day. As we submit to his leadership and allow him to lead us and guide us and Friends. When the spirit controls your life, he takes over. And part of his implementation is to bring peace to your life. You don't have peace in your life. And your Christian, maybe it's because you're living your life in the power of your own flesh and the power. But we need to know the author. We need to know the Prince of Peace, gospel song, When God, the spirit of peace. Now, the spirit Implement peace at our life, we walk to work. Just like we said last week, you'll never be led by the spirit unless, you know, the word because the spirit of God uses the word of God to bring him bitching and lead you in your life. You cannot be filled with the spirit of God without the word of God 165 play us some nights 119:165 Great. Peace. Have those who. What? Love you a lot? The people who love God worth. Great Piece, they will hatch and nothing causes them for Summer and Jack have a love for God work. And when you have God's perspective on why you will experience reason, so many people are chaotic for racing. They're running the attorney here and there they don't know what to do. They don't have the peace of God because they don't know they're not laying. Some years ago. They don't know the Son of God the Opera piece or the Prince of Peace. Well there's one more and we'll and this is what I called the rule. If you want to know God's will for your life. You meditate on Colossians 3:15, 3:15.

And the Bible says, the Bible says, there is left of the peace of God rule. In other words, let it be the arbitrator. Let it be the deciding factor. Let it control. And Governor let the Holy Spirit, not only be resident in your heart but be president of your heart. Let him out of your life. You say to me, I have a struggle because we're do. I do what I want to do. I do my desires, I want I know what my wants are so I chased after them. I live for me and myself and not for others and not forgot. When we do that, we don't have peace and it's not the Holy Spirit whose ruling who umpiring? We are the untier of our entire meeting is not think about this. You read the Bible? You're trying to figure out what you want to do in your life. Many choices Bible says, Thou shalt not kill me. Don't kill me, but don't do that. Y'all. Still is that hard to understand commands in the Bible are very simple, but the older we get, the more we walk with the Lord, we come to understand that some decisions in life is not about right and wrong. Good and bad. Should I go here or not? Should I listen to this music or not? So I read this material or not. Should I look at pornography or not? But I get drunk or not but I think drugs are not, those are easy but as you walk with the Lord, sometimes you going to understand that your options are. Right? And wrong your options. Maybe, what is good? What is better?

You have to choose between that and sometimes we wrestle with these things in a heart with read scripture, we listen to the word as it's popped and sometimes we just don't find clear direction from the Lord we need to do. So we asked the Lord we pray and we say Lord this decision I'm about to make I want you to give me peace in my heart and he'll give you pee. When you make that decision you say you have to rest and relax on the Holy Spirit, keep living within you to umpire your soul, to umpire your life. Allow him to call balmore fair safe or out ball or strike, allow him to do that. And you know, you going to go in the right direction. Somebody comes up. And I just fly off the handle that you may be at work or something like that. They just fly off the handle that. You how do you react? Mom.

You fly off the handle back and you don't talk to me that way and you just kind of let them out the way they did you or you walking in the spirit. Are you walking in the class you walking in the class, you have to allow the Holy Spirit by Kim, give me the word to say, help me to understand a soft answer turns away. Wrath help me understand the many times. We just reaction there, that's what we do. We go to bed at night. Just like he said, I go to bed at night and he said I sleep. When you when you lie down and not in your rest, if you go to sleep or you restful, it is your heart running everywhere. Or can you just lie down and go to sleep? No matter what the circumstances in life are around you? you have a peace of God, you can Yeah, piece of world you can't you can't do that but it's a matter of Walking In The Flash or walking in the spirit and we develop it and we practice it in the little things of clothes and say that you really can't appreciate the peace of God in your life. Until you first understand. At what cost that people think about this Jesus Christ died on the cross. So did you? And I could have peace with God. And that same death that is payment for our peace. Is described as a peace. That passes all understanding that is the peace of God. He took the pain so that you and I can taste it. It's what Jesus did now, we need to claim by faith this morning. What he's done for us and began to operate on the principles of peace to live a life worthy of his dad because he died so that we may have peace with God. To let me ask you this morning and do you have peace with God said, how do you do it? Have you trusted Christ? Put your faith in him and him alone for the beginning of sins. If you have done that, you happy with y'all. If you have not done that, I'm sorry to say you are at war with your mind. I feel like you are at war with God, but if you do have peace with God, do you have the peace of God? Can you lie down at night and sleep and rest, do you know the author of The Prince of Peace. Repeat the word peace in the does the holy spirit? Is he coming card in your life? I can tell you this, you don't have a peace of God and no matter what is going on around you. You will not fail. Thermometer, amen. Father, we do. Thank you and praise you. Love you today, Lord from your work for me. Thank you for the piece that we have. Those of us to know you as Lord. And Savior. We have peace with God. Thank you for that. We know that our future is secure.

The Lord. I know there's meeting here this morning that may have peace with you. But they don't have the peace of God in your life. Lord help us to know you in a way that we never known you before the draw closer to you. Help us to know Jesus. And exactly what he did on calvary's Cross. Help us to know and to rely in to allow the Holy Spirit to umpire in our life. May the peace of God rule in our heart. Made Governor met at the rectum and may yet live in lower.
