The God of Philosophers - Relating the best theology to the best philosophy
Aseity, Simplicity, Immutability, Incomprehensibility
God as Creator - In the Old Testament and New Testament
God as Redeemer - OT/NT
God’s Attributes - Trinity, Impassibility, Holiness

2. Worship

Worship as the proper response to God’s acts
God’s act of self-revelation in creation and redemption
We know God by His acts, but He is more than His acts, we learn about His attributes through His acts, primarily the Bible and evident reason
Worship in the Old Testament
Adam, Eve, and their children
Israel at Sinai, in Jerusalem
Israel in Exile
Worship in the New Testament
Sacrifices still offered, but no more blood sacrifices
Worship in Spirit and Truth

3. Mission

God’s mission is His acts. It’s crucial to distinguish between God’s economic revelation of Himself and His immanent knowledge of Himself.
God’s mission as gathering for Himself image-bearing worshippers in Spirit and Truth from all over the world
God’s mission is His. He planned it; He accomplished it; He applies it.
God’s mission was accomplished through humanity in the Old Testament
