Introduction
We continue tonight studying the several truths found in Scripture that will transform your life.
Tonight, we are going to look at yet another very popular, well-known verse that like some others we’ve studied, gets taken out of context from time to time.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
These verses encompass so many areas of our Christian walk…I like one thing I found while studying that said we can call these verses the A-Z of the Christian life...
This passage gives us the:
Attitude of hope
Boldness to face the battle
Courage to do what’s right
Defense against the devil’s attacks
Encouragement during trials
Focus on the eternal
Glory to give God
Help in time of need
Insight during trials
Joy through all circumstances
Knowledge in the darkness of what God’s trying to do
Love for God
Ministry for others
Nutrition in the famine of blessing to feed us
Offering of praise
Purpose for our lives
Quality for our lives
Rejoicing in suffering
Strength to not faint
Testimony to others
Understanding
Victory in the valley
Wealth as children
X-ray vision into why God is doing something
Yielding to His will, knowing that all things work together for good
Zeal to serve
Ultimately, these verses teach us that our good is God’s purpose!
Everything He allows into our lives is for His perfect purpose of conforming us to Christ!
Let’s take a look at some things tonight concerning “All Things For Your Good”...

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
It’s very important for us to realize who this verse is meant for!
This verse is “to them that love God” - You don’t have the right to claim this verse unless you qualify as one who loves Him!
You can’t love Him until you know Him!
19 We love him, because he first loved us.
And then we see
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
So by these few verses, we find out who this verse is for, and how to tell if you are one of His people!
This verse isn’t for the lost!
This verse isn’t for the lost!
We cannot use Romans 8:28 to comfort un unsaved person who is going through a trial, because the unsaved cannot have confidence that everything in their lives will all ultimately work out for good...
If you don’t believe me, listen to what Jesus said about Judas:
24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
All things didn’t work together for Judas!
Judas betrayed Christ and he suffered for that decision. Although Judas’ treatment of Jesus was for the good of all who would be saved, things didn’t all work together for the good of Judas himself.
Instead of comforting lost people with a verse that isn’t written to them, we must give them a clear presentation of the Gospel, and not a false assurance that their lives will work together for good.
If you’re not saved tonight, it’s time to get saved!
If you are saved, then look forward to the opportunity to claim this promise that all things work together for good!
This verse is for the saved!
