Green, Orange red.
Hebrews is like a text from God Today, how are you going. Be encouraged in hardship that God is good all the time all the time God is good
Today we continue in the section of Hebrews that is exploring how Jesus is Better than all the great ones who have come before in the Old Testament in (1:4–4:13)
From Lesser to Greater
From Lesser to Greater
In chapter 3 we see the writer contrasting Jesus with the great leader of the people of God, Moses (Heb 3:1–6; he uses the teaching technique in the lesser to the greater).
Jesus is Better than Moses
Jesus is Better than Moses
As great as Moses is Jesus is better. We use this sometimes when we say, wow if you think the surf was big yesterday wait until you see it today.
A Warning
A Warning
The mention of Christ’s superiority to Moses leads to exhortation and warning, based on Psalm 95:7–11, that those who are Christ’s must not follow in the unbelief (= lack of faithful obedience) of those who belonged to Moses (Heb 3:7–19).
The Theme of God’s Rest
The Theme of God’s Rest
Watch how this in turn leads to a further exposition on the theme of entering God’s rest (4:1–10; from Ps 95:11), which the first Joshua (“Jesus” in Greek) did not secure, and which now awaits those who persevere.
