ME:
Colossians 3:1–8 (ESV)
1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right
hand of God.
2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and
covetousness, which is idolatry.
6 On account of these the wrath of God is coming.
7 In these you too once walked, when you were living in them.
8 But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.
Reminders on your phones
People come up with unique ways to remind themselves of things
Isn’t it great to have people in your life to remind you of things.
There are time in my life I think, “if it wasn’t for my wife I would not know how to drive.”
Shelly, here is one for you ....
I read a quote the other day, “Ladies, if a man said he will fix it, he will. You don’t have to keep reminding him every 3 months.”
All Seriousness .... I am grateful for the people in my life who remind me of important / significant things.
THEY MAKE ME BETTER!
Transition Statement: Do you have people in your life that has been that person for you? Makes You Better?
WE:
That person who reminded you of important dates, events, things?
What about that person who reminds you about God?
Reminds you that you are ..... LOVED, TREASURED, ADORED by God!
Reminds you that you are ..... not Forgotten by God!
Reminds you that you are ..... ROYALTY.
Or that person who reminds you ..... Thats not what God would want! / or / this is what God would want you to do (say or react).
I believe this .... WE NEED EACH OTHER.
Transition Statement: I believe God places people in our life for just THESE THINGS!
GOD:
For the believers in Colossae, that person was Paul.
Let me explain why I say this .....
We need to look back ..... starting with 2:20 - 3:3
Paul states, “If you have died with Christ!” (2:20)
