29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
John baptist saw first hand the power of sins
As all kinds of people came to be baptsised of him, he saw firsthand the damage sin had done to their life.
They were full of sorrow, pain, full of all kinds of diseases and demons.
When he saw the Lamb, he uttered the words in awe “ Behold (look) the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.”
He saw in Christ all thes sin of the world and all its fruit being taken away from the world.
Jesus Christ did not only come to take away sins but the fruit of sin, pain sorrow sickness and death.
In the Kingdom of the Lamb there is no Pain, sorrows, sickness or death.
3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
The reason why we sometimes have pain, sorrow and sickness is because we are in this sin ridden world.
As long us we are in this world we are prone to sickness, sorrow and pain but there is hope.
We may be in the kindgom of this world, but we are also in the Kingdom of God.
So we have access to the lamb of God who takes not only our sins, but also our sorrows our pain and our sickness.
Jesus not only came to take away your sins but also the fruits of sin, pain, sorrow and sickness
Isaiah 53:1–6 (NKJV)
1 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
Jesus Christ was the lamb that carried , the sins of the world, the pain of the world, the sorrows of the world , the sickness of the world.
16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,
17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”
our sickness and diseases and does not belong on us it belong on him.
He came to carry our infirmities and sicknesses
all of our sickness belongs on the cross.
The serpent on the pole was the shadow of Jesus
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
8 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.”
9 So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.
We just have to llok to the cross to receive our healing
1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help?
2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
The hill is golgotha (calvary) upon which the Lord Jesus was crucified on the cross.
Lift your eyes to hills of golgotha, lift your eyes to the lamb that has been slayed on calvary. You will receive your healing.
Moving from the faith that God can to the faith that God will.
Beliveing that God can do this, does not necessarly bring healing or miracle.
It is the faith that will.
1 Samuel 17:46–47 (NKJV)
46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
47 Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.”
our faith must transition from can to will if we want God to work a miracle in our life, to heal us, deliver us.
1 When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him.
2 And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
3 Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
The leper believed Jesus can heal him, but he was not sure if his willing to heal him
Jesus before he healed him, he corrected his mindset and his faith went from can to will.
The woman with bleeding sickness had the will faith
24 So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him.
25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years,
26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.
27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment.
28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”
29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.
30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”
31 But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ”
32 And He looked around to see her who had done this thing.
33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth.
34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”
The multutide had many sickness, but they could not tap into the healing power becaue their faith was not God will but God can.
The lady said that if she touches the helm of his garment i shall be made well.
The faith that says God will will access this healing power today
There is a healing power in this place today
17 Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
18 Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him.
19 And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus.
20 When He saw their faith, He said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”
21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts?
23 Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up and walk’?
24 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”
25 Immediately he rose up before them, took up what he had been lying on, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.
26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen strange things today!”
Jesus came to teach and heal the teachers of the law and those who were with them, who came from far to hear him.
However none of them got their healing. They listened to what he taught but did not get healed.
Because they did not come with expectation, if they came believing God was going to heal them just like the four men that brought down the paraltytic they would have been healed.
The power of God is here to heal you, and deliver you, dont miss it. Believe that the Lord will heal you.
