What Does Your Key Control?

Imagine being in a car lot with every vehicle you have ever wanted. all kinds of vehicles with all kinds of features and you are told that you only needed one key to drive any of them. Although we mainly think about keys that open things, we should also understand that keys allow you to operate things and to control things. That key is the key of faith.

Hebrews 11:1 NKJV

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. Its the evidence that proves hope. Faith is a substance. its not figurative , its not an idea, its not a dream, its literal, its direct deposit. We are literally inside our faith in this building.

You ever been in a situation where stuff is messed up? Your reaction to the situation is an indication of your faith.

Without the faith key, you cant get anywhere. And that key is no bigger than a mustard seed. If faith is the key that can allow you to operate and control things, the question then becomes, What does your key control?

Mark 11:22–25 NIV

22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Jesus and the disciples were walking from Bethany and they saw the fig tree that had no figs. Jesus cursed the fig tree then walked away. How many times we speak over something and then speak again, and again, and again.

v22 We cant do this part and we partially do this part. We put faith in all kindsa other junk. pay check in the bank. church gonna grow. we lean on all other things and dont lean on God.

v23 Because it is easy to have faith on the little things. See the transition from fig tree to mountain. How many cars does your lot have? Small things, small lot, fig tree. Big things, big lot, mountains.

v24 Heb 11:6 no key, no vehicle/ no vehicle no can do stuff

Hebrews 11:6 NIV

6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

v25 We have to be in alignment with God. We need to get our flesh right. This helps us key the key in good condition. Worn key, equinox. We make it a dull key when we cant get out flesh right. lord bless me but when I get done with this prayer um gonna go cuss somebody out!

This exchange really helped me see a bit more clearly on faith. How we get there and what we do with it.

Now I ask again, what does your key control? If we are struggling with relationships, let faith control it, struggling with a business, let faith control it. with covid whiplash, let faith control it.
