When trouble comes it is easy for doubts to arise. Where is the Lord in the midst of trial?
David wrote this Psalm during one of the most trying times as a king and even more as a parent that he could have faced. Absalom (‘my father is peace”) was at war with him.
How do we deal with difficulty and attack in our life (physical or spiritual), particularly when it seems like trouble only seems to increase?

God is Our Defender (3-4)

God is our shield against the enemy. Far from having “no help in God” we have a shield (the shield of a warrior).
The Lord has heard our cry!

God is Our Sustainer (5-6)

God gives peace in the midst of trouble, so much that David says he can sleep. (see Psalm 4:7-8)
Jesus was calm in the midst of the storm.

God is Our Savior (7-8)

God has defeated our enemies and Saved us!
Romans 8:31-39
