Welcome

Psalm 37:20–22 ESV
But the wicked will perish; the enemies of the Lord are like the glory of the pastures; they vanish—like smoke they vanish away. The wicked borrows but does not pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives; for those blessed by the Lord shall inherit the land, but those cursed by him shall be cut off.

Reason for the Book of John
John 20:30–31 ESV
30 Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
John 21:24–25 ESV
24 This is the disciple who is bearing witness about these things, and who has written these things, and we know that his testimony is true. 25 Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.

The Word

John 1:1 ESV
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
the Word / The Speech
Jesus is the Word - by whom he proclaims His Grace
Word Conceived - Thought/Inteligence/Soul (Father)
Word Uttered - Vessal of Speech (Son)
Jesus - Glory of God ad Imprint of His Nature
Hebrews 1:3 ESV
3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Jesus - God Manifest in the Flesh
1 Timothy 3:16 ESV
16 Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

In the Beginning

John 1:2 ESV
2 He was in the beginning with God.
Not created - God Manifest

Jesus, The Creator

John 1:3 ESV
3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Jesus is Creator
This truth reiterated in Hebrews
Hebrews 1:2 ESV
2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.

Jesus is the Light

John 1:4 ESV
4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
Jesus/God is the source of life itself
the light
Day 1 - light (day & night)
Day 2 - seperated the waters
Day 3 - plants
Day 4 - Sun & Moon, and starts
Life & light - Death & Darkness
Acts 17:25 ESV
25 nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.

The lights shines in the darkness

John 1:5 ESV
5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
The light shines in the darkness
Taken away any excuse for ignorance
the darkness has not overcome it
The light of the Gospel is not exstinguished

Conclusion

Closing Prayer

Doxology(read) –

NOT TO US BE GLORY GIVEN but to him who reigns above: Glory to the God of heaven for his faithfulness and love! What though unbelieving voices hear no word and see no sign, still in God my heart rejoices, working out his will divine.
