John 16:33 may be one of the best and worst promises in the Bible. How can Jesus guarantee His disciples they will have troubles in life, and yet Jesus says He has overcome the world so we should take courage? Why would Jesus let believers suffer if He has won victory over this world? The tension in this verse gives us a great path for dealing with troubles in this world.
