The Blessed Man

The Blessed Man’s Blessing

The blessing is that the righteous man is not distracted or influenced by the wicked world.
He does not walk in the counsel of the wicked.
A righteous man is one who knows the Bible and can discern right and wrong council. He chooses to surround himself with people that know the word of God as well and can give Him good council.
Does not stand in the path of sinners
When a person surrounds themselves with wicked people, they pick up evil thoughts and will begin to stand and oppose the Bible in word and deed. The wise man lives and proclaims the Bible.
Does not sit in the seat of scoffers
The wicked man does not only oppose the Bible, but teaches and influences others to do the same. The righteous man makes disciples of Jesus Christ.
Th righteous man does not fall into the downward spiral of sin and therefore he is blessed.

The Righteous Man Meditates & Delights In The Law of The Lord

One may think that it is impossible to delight in law. People associate law with punishment and restrictions. So how can we delight in this? it is the meditation of the law that brings delight.
With every law there is a consequence for obeying it and disobeying it. The delight comes from seeing the reward for obeying it.
For example let’s asses the consequences of the following laws:
12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord your God gives you.
13 “You shall not murder.
14 “You shall not commit adultery.
15 “You shall not steal.
16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” Ex. 20:12-17

The Righteous Prosper

It is like a tree planted by a stream. It doesn’t matter the environment that surrounds the tree. As long as it can get its roots into the stream, it will bear fruit. This is the blessedness of the righteous. As long as they are rooted in the Word of God, they will produce fruit.

The Wicked Man

The Wicked Man is worthless

The Bible describes the wicked man like the chaff off of wheat. It is separated and burned.

The Way of the wicked will perish

Ultimately the wicked will be sent to the lake of fire to endure the wrath of God forever.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if [k]anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Rev. 20:13-15
