Intro
Bill Weinrich “Walk”
Way of the World/ Way of the Spirit
Ephesians
God has brought heaven and earth together (light on dark paths)
Not distant- happening for you and through you (called to be an agent of light)
The rulers of the world will always be opposed to this (darkness is working against you)
Walk in the Way of light- you will be triumphant against the prevailing darkness
Why will you be triumphant?
Christ's sacrificial love liberates & illuminates our darkened minds supplying us with new and renewed lives.

Darkened minds
Vv17-22 “Walking/ direction/ movement which is natural to the way of the world”
Pauls direction is clear- “Not you.” “No longer” Vv20 “Put off- Destroy this old self”

Greedy, sensuality, callous “lost sensitivity, past feeling”. =rate of diminishing return.
Insanity- why would they do this?
Vv22 “That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man. NIV "Which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires.
Desires are what is causing the corruption.
Moana “voice inside sings a different song”
“Ongoing conversation with the old man”
Steal- excuse
Fail to speak the truth?
Corrupting talk?
“Darkness comes from being alienated from the life God”
"Life of God” “Truth, holiness, right living”
Sun- far from it, you have no heat/ you have no contact with right conversation.
Thesis statement- 3,2,1. “you won’t even realize it.”
Transition not a text of dispair honest hope. but “God has brought heaven and earth together, and this happens for you and through you, and even though the way of the world is dark and against us as we walk in the light with Christ we will prevail against the darkness.”
Illuminating Liberation
“the old person is the person living under the dominion of the present evil age and its powers, and this previous identity has to be dealt with decisively”
