Know Who You Are
Know Who You Are
Sometimes you hear or see films where a drill sergeant is asking the private something to the effect: “What are you? “I'm a Marine, Sir.”
In our society, many people do not know who they are.
Even Christian young people struggle with identity.
As Christians, our identity is found in Jesus Christ.
Soldiers of Grace Know Who They Are.
Timothy was Paul’s son in the faith.
We are sons of God and soldiers of grace too!
2:1-2 are a summary of chapter 1. Because Paul taught Timothy, he expected Tim to be able to teach others also. To pass the teachings, the faith, the doctrine on to other people.
Mentoring.
Investing in the next generation.
Discipling.
Leadership.
Every Paul needs a Timothy and every Timothy needs a Paul.
Paul was successful in Teaching Timothy because he was able to send him back to Ephesus and Timothy became the Pastor at the church there. In addition, Timothy had to train his people well because he was going to take a long trip to visit Paul. Both worked hard at teaching their students who they were in Jesus.
