Message

Galatians 5:22–23 CSB
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things.
The Lord Jesus Christ talked about the fruit of the Spirit in John. He said that without Him we could do nothing. Fruit is what He wants in our lives. He wants fruit, and more fruit. He wants us to bear much fruit. Now the fruit is produced by the Lord Jesus using the Spirit of God in our lives. He wants to live His life through us. We cannot live the Christian life on our own. We must let Christ himself live through each of us.
A fruit tree just doesn’t decide to create fruit. It allows the sun to shine on it and the rain to nourish it along with its branches growing deep in the ground.
The branches never leave the trunk.
Thru the Bible Vol. 46: The Epistles (Galatians) Saved by Faith and Walking in the Spirit Produces Fruit of the Spirit

“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace.” Notice it is singular: is, not are. You can argue about the grammar used here, but it happens to be singular in the Greek. This indicates that love is the fruit, and from it stems all other fruits. Love is primary.

Joy is a fruit that the Lord Jesus wants you to have in your life. He came that we might have joy—that we might have fun. I wish we had more fun times in our churches today.

The third fruit is peace, the peace of God. Religion can never give this to you. Only Christ can give you deep–down peace—

Bible Story

David Shows Kindness 2 Samuel 9:1-13
Today's Bible story comes from the book of 2 Samuel. It's about a man named King David. King David loved God and wanted others to know about God's love, too! One way he could show God's love to others was by showing them kindness. Let's find out about a time when King David showed kindness.
Before David became king, Israel was ruled by a man named King Saul. King Saul did NOT like David. In fact, he even tried to have David killed! Even though Saul had been unkind to him, King David wanted to do something kind for anyone in Saul's family. David knew that God had been kind to him, so he wanted to show kindness to others. He sent a servant to find out if anyone in Saul's family was still alive.
The servant did as King David asked. When he came back, he reported that there was someone in Saul's family who was still alive--his grandson named Mephibosheth (prounounced: Mef-fib-oh-sheth). The servant explained that Mephibosheth's feet were hurt and that he couldn't walk, so David asked the servant to bring Mephibosheth to his palace.
When Mephibosheth first saw King David, he bowed down and said he was ready to serve the king. But, King David told Mephibosheth that he would show him kindness. Even though it didn't make any sense to Mephibosheth, King David gave him all the land that belonged to Saul and promised to take care of him for the rest of his life. King David treated Mephibosheth like one of his own sons! Just as King David showed kindness to Mephibosheth, we can show kindness to others, too!
