Psalm 23

Presence in Our Needs

Sheep are notoriously needy animals.

We have the one who is ultimate, sovereign over all, looking out for our every need.

Vs 1-3 show how God takes care of specific needs in our lives.

A sheep’s greatest need is a shepherd.

Presence in the Shadow

A sheep’s life was a pretty fragile thing.

Sometimes we have to go through the valley to get where we must go.

God’s rod and staff remind us that He protects and guides.

In any darkness we face, God has gone before us.

Presence Always

Vs 6 tells us that goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives.

We can face the future without anxiety because of His presence.

Because Jesus is the good shepherd, we are in His care for eternity.
