God’s Calendar

Genesis 1:14 AV
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
all months started on a new moon
the month cannot start unless the new moon is sighted
so what happens if the new moon is covered by clouds?
The High priest need to know precisely when the new moon was spotted
2 or three reliable witness are needed to report to the Sanhedrin
then a fire is lit on the Mount of Olives to signal the people
from this time the High Priest can set the days of the month
He also the feast days and when they begin, and end, in the month
the feasts of Israel remember something and are a prophecy to look forward to
the Spring feasts
looked forward to the coming lamb to take away the sin of the world

Feast of Trumpets

Turn to Leviticus 23: 23-25
a rest period of remembrance
a Holy day

what is to be remembered? IE the Passover -looking back at the blood on the door and the death angel passing over.
This feast, they Don’t know
most common answer is...
turn to Exodus 19: 16-20
the people were consecrated/ holy/ clean, and ready to meet with God
there was a loud trumpet blast from heaven
God came down, Moses went up to meet Him in the smoke/ clouds
after a time Moses came back down
because the Feast of Trumpets is on a new moon they were not sure what day it was celebrated
the month could not start until the new moon was sighted by 2 or more witnesses
thus the feast of trumpets was nicknamed the feast which no man knows the day or the hour
on the FOT there are 100 trumpet blasts and the last one is called THE LAST TRUMP it’s the longest and loudest
there are other names that the FOT is called

the father of the groom would strike a deal with the father of the bride to be and a dowry would be paid
the bride must consent to the arrangement
there would be a betrothal/ an engagement legally bound
after the son would return to his fathers house and begin building a room onto his fathers house
when the room was completed to the fathers satisfaction the father in the middle of the night would go to the sons room and tell him to go get his bride
the son would go to the town and blow a trumpet/ shofar to wake up the town to tell them he was here to collect his bride
the best man would be with him to yell and wake every one up
the groom would come to the brides house and put her in a carrying chair to bring her to the fathers house
where they would go into the wedding chamber and consummate the wedding

The Snatching Away

lets compare what we have learned about the FOT and the wedding
The Father gives the bride to His son
John 6:37 LEB
Everyone whom the Father gives to me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never throw out,
Jesus will make us the spotless bride
2 Corinthians 11:2 LEB
For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy, because I promised you in marriage to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.
Ephesians 5:25–27 LEB
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for her; in order that he might sanctify her by cleansing her with the washing of water by the word; in order that he might present to himself the church glorious, not having a spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she may be holy and blameless.
then He will go and make a place for us
John 14:2–3 LEB
In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places; but if not, I would have told you, because I am going away to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself, so that where I am, you may be also.
When the Father says its time Jesus will return for his bride
Matthew 24:36 LEB
“But concerning that day and hour no one knows—not even the angels of heaven nor the Son—except the Father alone.
remember one of the nicknames for the FOT no one knows the day or the hour
then Christ will come in the clouds to take his bride home
1 Corinthians 15:51–52 (LEB)
Behold, I tell you a mystery: we will not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the blink of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
why did Paul want the people to know it was at the last trump?
it goes back to the FOT and the 100th trumpet blast
then
1 Thessalonians 4:15–17 LEB
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who remain until the Lord’s coming, will not possibly precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout of command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who remain, will be snatched away at the same time together with them in the clouds for a meeting with the Lord in the air, and thus we will be together with the Lord always.
the trumpet / the voice/ the taking away of the bride to be with the groom forever
then Paul continues in chapter 5
1 Thessalonians 5:1 LEB
Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need of anything to be written to you,
the times and seasons takes us back to the feast days
the fall feast of trumpets is the next to be fulfilled
and Jesus has filled the spring feasts to the day
the FOT this year falls on the 6-7 of September
what day? what hour? what year?
are you prepared? are you the bride?
John 3:16–18 LEB
For in this way God loved the world, so that he gave his one and only Son, in order that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but will have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world in order that he should judge the world, but in order that the world should be saved through him. The one who believes in him is not judged, but the one who does not believe has already been judged, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.
Ephesians 2:8–9 LEB
For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast.
