Not a pretty sight

Revelation 19:11–16 NKJV
Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS
We see now the awesome and devastating reality of the judgement of man and sin
John sees the victorious rider seated upon the white horse being called Faithful and True and in righteousness He is judging and making war
It is the final actions of this age of man
The imagery used here is stronger than simply the redeeming Savior, the Hebrew mind saw the conquering Messiah, the great defender of the nation
2 Thessalonians 1:7–8 NKJV
and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Both the fulfilment of the promised Messiah and the Christian hope can now be seen!
2 Thessalonians 1:9–10 NKJV
These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed.
The heavens were opened to reveal the conquering Messiah and the armies of heaven to war against the beast, the false prophet and the nations
Just as in Chapter 6, the rider is mounted on a white horse a symbol of victorious conquest
He who sat upon him was called faithful and true and in righteousness He judges and makes war
Remember
Revelation 16:5–7 NKJV
And I heard the angel of the waters saying: “You are righteous, O Lord, The One who is and who was and who is to be, Because You have judged these things. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, And You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due.” And I heard another from the altar saying, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.”
Revelation 19:2 NKJV
For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.”
Look at Psalm 96
Psalm 96:13 NKJV
For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, And the peoples with His truth.
It reminds us that God is not lying and faithful to His promises to us!
Revelation 19:12 NKJV
His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.
2 Thessalonians 1:8 NKJV
in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The flaming eyes of His judgement no one can escape, piercing and revealing nothing hidden!
On His head many crowns - diadems
For sure a mockery of the Antichrist who has the seven crowns and diadems of authority
The hidden name is thought to be the sacred tetragrammaton YHWH to holy to pronounce
John 1:1–5 NKJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
The appearance of God as Savior now the appearance of God as Judge
Revelation 19:13–15 NKJV
He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
John sees Him clothed in a robe of blood - a reference to to the terrible judgement of God’s wrath
Isaiah 63:1–4 NKJV
Who is this who comes from Edom, With dyed garments from Bozrah, This One who is glorious in His apparel, Traveling in the greatness of His strength?— “I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.” Why is Your apparel red, And Your garments like one who treads in the winepress? “I have trodden the winepress alone, And from the peoples no one was with Me. For I have trodden them in My anger, And trampled them in My fury; Their blood is sprinkled upon My garments, And I have stained all My robes. For the day of vengeance is in My heart, And the year of My redeemed has come.
trodding in the wine press is a messy business! Juice spraying everywhere and now it is the picture of a horrific scene of death
Millions of people gathered together to war against Him from Megeddio to Edom
Hebrews 4:12 NKJV
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Psalm 2:1–4 NKJV
Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision.
Blood will flow a horses bridle deep!
Notice that it is the Word going forth that is the sword of destruction
The Devine Word fulfilling it’s Devine purpose!

He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
And the armies in heaven followed Him clothed in fine linen
This my friends is us! Clothed with clean garments of the righteousness of Christ The chosen and faithful!
Notice that even though backed by an invincible army, the rider need not call on their services! Just a word will destroy them all!
